    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

You do understand that includes paying staff to deal with local issues and constituents, plus renting office space to do that work in. Not to mention the costs of going back and forth to Westminster from Cumbria and accommodation whilst there ? Maybe you should go over his accounts and see...

    Winter fuel Payments.

They continued to work for the same pay. What's the issue ? My daughter worked from home in lockdown, it wasn't as easy for her as her usual work, often working more hours than before, disruptive here for everyone else too. She used the laptop should would normally use before covid. I'm sure it...

    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

The term 'junior doctor' is NOT similar to an apprentice, they just haven't got a consultant's job yet. "Junior doctors are qualified doctors in clinical training. They have completed a medical degree and can have up to nine years' of working experience as a hospital doctor, depending on their...

    Speed Limit

I admire you optimism on this :ROFLMAO: Yes, it's a theoretical possibility, in practice ? Unlikely in the next twenty years. Just too many practical difficulties, let alone the issue of legacy vehicles. Have you had to have a windscreen replaced that has a camera built behind it yet ...

    Speed Limit

Static(ie not online) GPS systems need updating and that's sometimes stupidly expensive (£200+ for my Mazda <yeah right>) and aren't always correct anyway or only updated every year or more, so can be significantly out of date. Even 'live' systems like Google traffic can get it wrong more often...

    Speed Limit

I've seen that quite a few times, even home made Gatso copies. Just imagine if that technology was widely adopted and made mandatory, how much fun protestors could have draping 20mph signs on motorway over bridges/gantries.

    Speed Limit

So that only works if roads signs are clear, always visible, complete and correct. Opens up the possibility of people putting up their own signs and messing that system up or being stuck at the wrong speed if the camera misses one.

    Winter fuel Payments.

The problem with means testing is the difficulty of doing it correctly, takes a lot of effort=cost. Maybe everyone below pensionable age in the UK should just pay for prescriptions as before devolution ? The annual prescription option can keep costs reasonable for those on many medications.

How does it do that ? reliably ?

    Winter fuel Payments.

Just because a lot of us don't need it doesn't mean that everyone will be ok, some will genuinely suffer. I can understand why Reeves has had to make such an immediate decision. I'd hope that it will have the side effect of encouraging some who don't claim the benefits (PC etc) that they're...

    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

How many times does it need to said that it ISN'T "inflation busting" because these groups have had BELOW inflation pay increases for years and years. Restitution back to pre-austerity would be equal to a 35% rise, so at 22% they're STILL behind where they should have been. Or maybe you like...

    Speed Limit

I have a 'speed limiter' warning in my car (Mazda), but it's effectively useless as you need to set it yourself for a single speed. Google maps sometimes gives the wrong limit and can be slow to update. The idea of a speed limiter is good, but how it can be reliably implemented is a nightmare...

    Winter fuel Payments.

Given that so many public service workers have had BELOW inflation pay rises imposed on them in the last decade, that's hardly a gift. That will save money, or didn't you listen to the detail or question who made migration jump so much in recent years ? Tedious repetition, find something...

Who's got it better US or UK Woodworkers?

On what subject(s) ? when ? BBC leads the world with nature educational TV; Blue Planet, Life on Earth, Planet Earth.......

Name one mainstream crafts show that isn't a competition ?

Who's got it better US or UK Woodworkers?

Silly comment. Time constraints only crop up in competitions, of necessity. Other educational items on TV don't have time jeopardy, more of 'here's one I made earlier'

Absolutely right, but not just pensioners.... everyone.

Who's got it better US or UK Woodworkers?

Actually there is a lot of educational material, but maybe not what you want. It's east to poke at broadcasters like this, but coming up with any sort of balanced proposal that would be acceptable and affordable is magnitudes harder.
