    Sorby ProEdge

The SPE has been regularly discussed in the turning section here, so a search should give you plenty of answers. I think the general consensus amongst owners is that they are great machines that are as easy and fast to use as promised. A couple of people have minor niggles with them; One is...

What would you do with these?

It would be terrible to burn such a rare wood as Teak now. Pop them on eBay and someone will buy them and make good use of them.

    Chuck recommendations

Not had a problem with that here. The grub screw seems to hold it well. I'm not convinced that the plate fits the jaws as well as it could though. Sometime I'll get round to working out why and seeing if there's a fix.

    Axminster multi head live centre

There isn't. The hole on the top of the centre body is just blind. It is used with a tommy bar in conjunction with a second one on the threaded ring at the front to to help extract the tips from the centre body. To answer the OP's question; Yes, I've got this faceplate part, it comes with the...

    Elu MOF177E type 4 pre 1999

They can be repaired. Use a solvent cement to re-weld the broken parts, then reinforce the area that breaks (The dust tube from the base ??) with epoxy. I've got one with a repair like that which has lasted 20 years with careful use. Great routers.

Prescription Safety Specs - which ones are the 'best'?

A lot will depend on your individual prescriptions and preference. It's probably best to go for what you normally wear. If you only wear glasses for close up work/reading, just go for an off the shelf pair of bifocals. Dead cheap and easy to get on with.

Health & Safety, has it gone to far?

Never had a drill break then ? or hit something really hard in a wall eg flint, masonry nail etc You need to buy decent PPE then. A good pair of goggles cost less than a tenner.

some assembly help with Dewalt 720 please.

Good to hear it's all working. From the parts list posted above it looks like the replacements will be trivially cheap anyway. RASs have a bit of fierce reputation, so be careful. Stick to cross cutting to start with as most accidents seem to involve ripping timber.

some assembly help with Dewalt 720 please.

Yes It's a sort of extension base to the left of the main baseboard. 97 bolts to 81. If I recall correctly 98 is full width across 76-81 No, see above. Two assemblies (92-95)x2 that fit into slots at the end of 86&91 and press against 76 on the top surface of the bars. 76-81 fit onto 86&91...

some assembly help with Dewalt 720 please.

That's the problem. Theses are the two clamps that press the loose parts (77-80) together to form the fence and rear part of the table. You'll either need to source some replacements or get hacking; Maybe a pair of sash cramps could perform the same function or engineer replacement toggle...

    Wood Working Quiz!

The vast majority of woodworking videos are pretty dreadful. Most being tediously long with terrible technical quality. The Axminster ones are at least acceptable technically, but trying to pack every subject into a single minute is just daft.

The cordless Festool driver he's using has to the most expensive screwdriver they sell.

    Wood Working Quiz!

I think there's a lot of people not looking quite closely enough at this video. Anyone else noticed the box is comb jointed ? Without seeing a better close up it's impossible to say whether it's been done correctly or not. Even if it has been done correctly, it's still a poor piece to...

Health & Safety, has it gone to far?

That's also an example of a piece of kit that risks injury to others too. There was an interesting article in The Observer earlier this year on the problem of claiming for damage done to passing cars by contractors using strimmers. IIRC One contractor suggested they get 200 claims a year from...

Health & Safety, has it gone to far?

Why wouldn't you ? Most power tools are capable of throwing debris back into your face. In the past I had a couple of nasty scares when I've been hit in the eyes. I never again intend to have to explain to an A&E doctor that I wasn't wearing any safety kit. Any eye injury is absolutely horrible...

They also took innocent bystanders with them though.

Health & Safety, has it gone to far?

The saying goes in our industry; Health and Safety costs, accidents cost a lot more. I've been on courses run by the HSE and it's clear all they want is people to work in a way that doesn't put them OR others at risk.
