    Parkside/Lidl Multimeter PDM 300

My experience with dealing with Lidl's warranty service has been good. Yes, there's some tedious repeated form filling and waits for replies, but the end result has always been either a refund or replacement. As others have said, using cheap multi-meters on mains power is potentially suspect...

    Electric vehicles

Possibly, but from what I've read converting to rely on an EV takes quite a degree of commitment. I suspect that few people will be living somewhere with domestic charging facilities that aren't already using them. As a casual hirer EVs would be(are) a pain. Unlikely to get cheap or low cost...

    Etsy con

Give it some consideration; Etsy fees - just over £2 per item PayPal fees - about the same Jiffy bag 50p Postage ? even Evri will charge about £3 So that could be more than a quarter of the price paid just gone in selling and shipping fees before any costs of materials and manufacture are taken...

You've understood wrongly. You've failed to take into account that there are costs involved in making and selling the item; Materials costs; Wood, velcro, finishing products, packaging Cost of production; Electricity, depreciation of capital assets Costs of sales; Postage, Etsy selling fees...

    Electric vehicles

An interesting approach for maintaining revenue once EVs become common; https://www.icelandreview.com/news/reduced-incentives-for-electric-vehicle-ownership/

No, it's related to emissions. If you have an electric car you pay no VED. Less emissions less VED, with a few notable exceptions.

    Festool domino: benefits + price

Sounds too cheap. Check it's not stolen, then if genuine, if it works. No guaranties with FB.

    Router Cutters - Which Manufacturer

My preference order would be Trend (if their pro range, red ones), Bosch, Freud then Erbauer. If your friend only has a limited choice available, Wealden are a great option for the ones he can't get.

Any plumbers? Am I out of touch?

In Which's usual hopelessness, that figure is an average that takes no account of local variations. Guildford is one of the most expensive areas in the UK, so any trader there has very much bigger overheads that will need to be passed on compared to much of the rest of the country. £250 inc VAT...

    Which sucker to go for?

Got a Lidl near you ? https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/parkside-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner/p10010052 I've had a Vax, which is the same sort of thing, that's done sterling service over the years for pulling water off floors and out of carpets. Parkside kit is a lot better than you might expect for the price.

Which long drill bit for wooden table lamp?

Next time I need to drill a seriously long hole in wood, one of the below will be my first choice. Beware the nasty cheap Chinese sets of long drills which are as soft as cheese, but dangerous as they bend and break :-( https://www.axminstertools.com/fisch-beam-drill-8mm-502146

    Starter set of Router Bits

That sounds unlikely. Most big routers allow you fit a 1/4" collet (as well as 6mm & 8mm). Buying an extra collect isn't a great expense and will allow you to keep using any 1/4" cutters you have. As others have said, sets are usually a bit of a waste of money. Buying bits because you think you...

    Salt and pepper mill mechanisms

I made a tool myself out of HSS bar, it's exactly right for Crushgrind, not a generic recess cutter. Not pretty, but a fraction of the price.

    Steb centres

If it revolves it's a tail support, if it's fixed it's a drive. No, they won't prevent grabs. Stebs or crown drives are useful as they can drive (or support) more evenly over a bigger area and are less prone to being driven into the piece being turned.

Why do we have so many issues with software programs

Actually they don't fear this sort of user at all, they're simply unimportant as they don't and won't generate any revenue. A key aspect of subscription software is to capture market share by creating tied in 'loyalty'. It also greatly reduces the cost of entry; A student who learnt on Adobe's...
