    PAINTING OVER SILICON SEALER.

Sounds like you’ve put it in the wrong place if you need to paint over it. Where is it?

    Shoulder Screws

    That’s what I’d do too
  3. TheTiddles

    Shoulder Screws

Brass shoulder screws would be an odd thing, given that the shoulder is usually ground for precision and brass isn’t great for that. What are you trying to achieve?

Best fixings for Breeze Block (or at least that’s what I call it)

Plastic plugs would work, concrete screws are faster but more expensive. If you’re planning on hanging things on the wall afterwards, either accommodate that in your calculations or go through the sheets and battens into the concrete.

    Fire proof finishes

Cheap glass tea light holders, shot glasses, copper pipe, there are many options, placing a a source of ignition in a flammable substance is just plain negligence Aidan

    Sheet material cutting order layout

I mean you could, similarly you could sharpen up your panel saw and cut them all by hand, or... SketchCutLite (other layout optimisers are available)

    Whale bone.

“Plastic” is a funny name for a material, it only really applies when the material is hot. It’d be like calling glass “squidgy”, at room temperature most plastics are not very plastic at all, but I suppose “brittle” was already taken... One of the first modern plastics was made from milk, it...

SDS drill terminology . . and a view on a model

Oh and can we stop using wattage, it’s called power

SDS drill terminology . . and a view on a model

N is Newtons, not sure what n kg is, or do you mean “n” is a number? In which case it’s the hammer weight. The bigger your hammer, the harder you can hit (duh!), but you have more mass to lift. Depending on what concrete work you have to do, you may need a big one, generally you don’t and it...

    Whale bone.

I believe the Queen gets the tongue, I’m not sure what she does with it, maybe a slide from one floor to another in the palace? Aidan

    Just use the blade guard!

    I think he’s joking mate!

    Mistake- how to fix this?

Not easy to fix that. You could graft on a piece and re-cut if you have a matching grain sample offcut Aidan

    Sawdust...

For what?! Seems like a very narrow minded view
  14. TheTiddles

    Sawdust...

Have you got a commercial quantity or a domestic quantity? If the first, pay a licensed disposal company to take it from you. If the second, take it to the tip who will tell you to put it in a different place every time (based on the Salisbury experience). Or put it in your household waste...

    Just use the blade guard!

I really wouldn’t bother trying to explain why planesleuth is wrong, you can’t reason someone out of a position they have not been reasoned into, may as well try and teach your dog algebra Aidan

Brass powder and epoxy resin infill on burr oak

Yep, like a good fruitcake, there should only be just enough binder to hold the good bit together. I struggled to get a decent shine when using epoxy but filling with powder/filings and dripping low viscosity cyanoacrylate worked really well, though on a huge bit it might not be strong enough...

    Database for tools

Three things come to mind: 1) Really? 2) If “yes”, I think the problem is not one that is ultimately solved with software. But could be solved with what used to be know as a “list”, electronic or on paper, whichever... 3) Thank you for support the manufacturing sector, we love you. Aidan

    Just use the blade guard!

I heard it’s just you they don’t care about ;)

    Compound sled

It’s more common to adjust the blade to parallel with the mitre track. Then once you’ve done that get a new blade guard made up before using it Aidan

Any recommendations for Bulk Polyurathane/acrylic Varnish?

Can you get pre-finished ply and save an enormous quantity of work? Aidan
