Side rail hinges - different sizes?

Personally I think those premium one's look so much neater than the budget ones. I think the budget ones look cheap and will spoil/cheapen the look of your box.

    Knob for bandsaw

I have an idea, If I use an M6 coach bolt and screw a female star knob to the head then use a locking nut to hold it in place (Tight) (image 4 bottom hole) would I be able to screw it in and un screw it by hand using only the female knob?

    Knob for bandsaw

If the shank is 60mm or greater it would work otherwise as it is it would not, however I may be able to reduce the overall width from 40mm to 20mm. If I could get hold of some No Nails I would be able to knock something up but I can't find any at the right price anywhere.

    Knob for bandsaw

I have managed to sort out the top knob that needed a sleeve to go over the plastic, I always knew I was overthinking the problem and the solution ended up being a simple one. I used a female knob that slid over the plastic bit, that was too big for the M6 thread so would not stay. With a...

Wow You did well finding that. I was hopeful it would be part #82 but that seems to be a male but parts 82-85 does appear to be female. If I can't sort it tomorrow I will buy that and see. Thank you ever so much

    Knob for bandsaw

Thanks for the link but sadly that is not what I am looking for. I am after a female knob M6 (That is no problem getting) It will need to have some kind of a sleeve (for want of a better word) that will go over the plastic bit shown on the the 3rd, 4th and 5th image. That sleeve grips the...

    Knob for bandsaw

Sorry what I meant was that as I no longer have the knob to turn it I am using the steel tubing as that is the only thing I have that is small enough to go over the plastic bit and turn it. The block now raises and lowers freely but I cannot keep it at the heights I set it at. It's my bad as it...

    Knob for bandsaw

I think that may have happened and I have tried to turn the upper knob too hard and that in turn broke it. I have found a bit of steel tubing that can turn it but it is very haphazard and does not keep it at the height I set it at.

    Knob for bandsaw

Here are some photo's, due to the shakes I have they are blurred. I have sort of rescued these. The bandsaw is a Workzone HBS20 and the threads are M6 as is the thread for the part that is missing. I didn't realise it was even missing until I started trying to find the name of the broken one. I...

    Knob for bandsaw

Thanks for that Lons I couldn't find what I was looking for sadly. I have 3 possible names for what I am after but again I just cannot find it on google. I suspect it is one of these 3, Saw blade guide locking knob, blade lock or blade height adjustment knob. It is as @Distinterior suggested...

    Knob for bandsaw

I will take some photo's tomorrow. The knob screws on a thread until it reaches a circular bit of plastic with a flat side. The knob has a flat side on the thread that marries up with the plastic part. Once it is over I can raise or lower the blade guides upto 3" or so. I think it will be a lot...

    Knob for bandsaw

I have a cheap bandsaw. It has a knob on the back that raises and lowers the blade guide height, at least it did have one until it broke. Does anyone know the correct terminology so I can google it and buy one? or does anyone know where I can get one from? Thank you Gary

    Joke thread

At Friday night services, Morris went to his friend Irving and said, "Irving, I need a favour - I'm sleeping with the rabbi's wife. Can you hold him in temple for an hour after services for me?" Irving was not very fond of the idea, but being Morris' lifelong friend, he reluctantly agreed...
