    Drying an Oak slice

Painting both faces with melted wax will help to reduce any cracking by slowing the drying process. If you do get cracking, make them a feature by resin/contrasting wax filler or put a bowtie in? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Strange Problem

You are using two different edges to reference off here, I would first of all use the square just as a straight edge to find the high and low spots on the panel and plane these down, then use this face to reference off to make the edges square. Hope this makes sense and helps a bit Sent from...

    Woodwork courses North East

Hi lumix, I did part of a short evening course at Ashington college. It was very basic and the hand tools were in poor condition but if all you really want is to learn simple joints and tool use then it might suit? Regards Mike Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Refinishing Oak Worktops?

I think I just sanded mine to 180 grit. The polyx is great, it shrugs off everything that has been thrown at it, and there are no issues with black mould/staining near the sink that you can get if just finished with oil [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Refinishing Oak Worktops?

When I fitted my kitchen with oak worktops I finished them with a couple of coats of Danish, allowed to dry for a couple of days then three coats of osmo polyx. That was a year ago and they are still looking fantastic! No flaking, peeling, spontaneous combustion, random likenesses of jesus...

    Michelin CrossClimate + tyres

I live and work in rural Northumberland and have all seasons fitted to my xtrail. Definitely worth it! I have nokian weatherproof fitted, they are a winter biased all season tyre, excellent in the wet and even on compacted snow. The rear tyres aren't really showing any wear after a year's...

    Floating shelf advice needed.

Think you can get resin in small capsules that you drop into the hole, then put the bolt/threaded bar in and break the capsule. No gun required, no tube of resin to just use half of before it goes off... Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk
