I prefer the second one, the edge of the top is better proportioned ( not as deep / thick ) in relation to the overall shape.I did think of saying that the top edge when seen in profile of the first one was a little thick when you first posted it, but decided that I was being "nit picky" and...

    Grrrrr...Milwaukee, what a con.

Ok then :-) Bosch advertise their "white goods" heavily on TV here. The ad campaign is "like a Bosch", but Miele is better built , more money, and available from the more upmarket dealers , Liebherr is less available. The one I avoid now is Samsung , I have one of their fridge freezer combos...

The odd decent hurler indeed , but when the finals were Wexford against Kilkenny, you'd not be wanting to be saying so in the pub in New Ross. Strange thing, the parish records for the Dysartmoon parish on the Kilkenny side of the Barrow ( Ballyreddy in my case ) are held in the health centre...

That spelling of the pejorative is rare ( unless you mean that you think that the tools etc were made by Titus Welliver ? ) , I suspect that as many here have German relatives and or friends that MikeK ( who counts among that number ) may not let that stand. In which case I have no objection to...

@Pabs :-) Not only is there no added camber* on mine, I didn't even take out the saw marks ( Japanese saw ) nor sand it, nor varnish it. It was remarkably smooth wood in very good condition for wood that was blocking a river, absolutely straight, PSE lovely, I reckon if I added it all up, I've...

I don't criticize Festool or Mafell for their prices , but I think they could probably cut their margins in half and still make a lot of money.I doubt that they are manufacturing in the EU on ethical grounds though, I've see breakdowns of their gear which shows that they ( or Festool at least )...

Oooops, I didn't mean to disparage in any way what you'd done there.I just got fed up with looking for small tools ( mainly the ones that I use to make small "maquettes" in plasticene before using wood or stone, or whatever ) between my various keyboards , laptops and cellphones. So, having some...

I have similar racks next to my keyboards, but they were not so much "made", as I just drilled a lot of holes in some oak

I thought that Festool and Mafell were made out of unicorn tears and sweat respectively. Which is why they are not made in China as they have no unicorns. Ask Baldkev which type of mortgage he would recommend at the moment .

Speaking of Ireland, Arte ( french / german TV ) is running a series of programs about Ireland entitled ( translated ) "The Four Corners of Ireland". Part one is about the North of Ireland ( scenery to take your breath away ) which I think is Noel's part ? It is entitled "The Savage North" they...

Some companies sell their grinders with 2 sizes of guards, 115 and 125. But, grinders are like clamps..IME ( sculptor ) one can never have too many grinders...10 asst 115 and 125 ones ATM + 2 big slab , marble granite, brick and breize block ones ( I think they are 250 or 300 something ) ...

Indeed it is a grand day for the wearing of the green ( I have my own supply of shamrock growing in the garden here ) ..Happy St Patrick's day to one and all. :-) I found this forum via Mark's site.. :-)

When you consider the extremely low bar ( around 4% of final input, such as putting a few screws into things that are shipped fully assembled apart from those last few screws ) that goods have to reach to be qualified to have "made in USA" or Made in EU" etc. "Made in PRC"* is probably more...

I'm just wondering where all the devices that people ( who want to avoid Chinese made equipment ) are using to post here ( and elsewhere on the internet ) are made?

    Remembering Icek, a carpenter.

Never forget any of them, never forget,or deny , or diminish what happened , to avoid it ever happening again.

    Is it any wonder why.....

How so, how is it a private action if you go to a polling station ? How you vote is private and having to produce photo ID to be given a ballot paper would not change that. Do you refuse to show your driving licence if stopped by the police on the grounds of your basic human right to privacy ?

Which "basic human rights" is it abusing.. ? In the UK you have to prove who you are to access a great many things, social security payments etc. Why is photo ID somehow a slippery slope, if anything it vastly simplifies the act of proving who you are, saves you having to have all those other...

    Joke Thread III

As someone who has owned a few retail shops and businesses in my time in more than one country, any customer who could make me laugh usually got a discount or a small freebie with their purchases. Brightened my days. :-)
