    UK power sockets outside UK

Yes, the "ex pats" houses here are the ones with the best electrical, water, sewage and gas installations. I've talked to french who've been into their "expat" neigbour's houses and are highly impressed. They are sought after as some "expats" have left due to Brexit , because the work is so well...

    UK power sockets outside UK

Did you actually find many that stuck to the regs.. New build some do yes, ( depending on where you are ) as EDF inspect before they connect.Renovation and conversions, not so much IME , as EDF don't get involved. Place going up a 100metres from me most definitely isn't adhering to any regs.The...

You don't have multiple individual circuit breakers and fuses on your main panel ? Problem with radial in France is that then they daisy chain multiple 3.5kw blocks off each radial 13 or 16 amp outlet. That and "les sparkies" or architects seem to think that two outlets per room is sufficient...

Wood, brass and amethyst inlay cast in epoxy resin

Could have been worse, I used to have a customer who bought me large blocks ( 1 - 2kg ) of Corindon / Corundum Al₂O₃ each month, so that I could make "ruby sculptures".At the time "ruby sculptures" were very expensive per caret , and he had the luxury retail outlets in the Côte d'azur to sell...

Workshop Interior - suggestions and critique

What BucksDad said. You'd need to have a wooden Daft Punk style helmet with light sticks though, which could be a bit of an emb*ggerance for planing. Seriously though, you do have additional lighting to be able to see what you are doing? Very " music room" or "cocktail bar" ambience, which may...

Wood, brass and amethyst inlay cast in epoxy resin

Curious why the choice of something like Amethyst which has slight sparkle and translucence , if the idea was that it was to be encased in resin where most of that interplay of the light on the facets of the crystals will be lost.

    Rail holster on bench

It will work right up to the moment that you walk into it, while moving around the bench with your attention focused on something else, and then it will hurt muchly, or you'll damage the rail.

The best saw in the workshop today to buy at the neighborhood store.

I like Japanese saws, since I first discovered them, they are what I now buy, I prefer them. I have European saws, which I already owned, I rarely use them , if at all , nowadays.

It was coffee* the :coffee: , but close enough :) we Irish are somewhat famous for our coffee. *I've never been one for the "cup o' scald' ( black tea that you could trot a mouse on ) , but a good green tea in the afternoon is grand. :)

As an Irishman , with a glass of rather fine red in front of me at the time of typing, my use of "cheers" was intentional. I could have used .. Sláinte ;) ( Other countrymen of mine here do., even in their "sigs" ) Which can be used with, or without a drink in one's hand, as "good health" , or...
