Only way I could trim the place next door would be with a bulldozer, or maybe explosives. The house and garden is just one amorphous lump of Ivy and Brambles..But yeah, I hear you about it being good for other insects and birds. We encourage both.

Clever idea that ^^^ :) That kind of "consulting of land registery" is free here ( cadastre ) at any mairie ( town hall ) ..Good way to find out who owns "so called" "abandoned property, / land" if you are interested in buying it. There is a "variant" on "claiming it via use", but takes about 30...

If it was horizontal you could cover it with crushed cat litter, ( a lot of it is "fullers earth' which is wonderfull for absorbing oils out of things like brick surfaces ) maybe rig up a box ( or plastic cover with the stuff sealed against the brickwork behind it ) to do so vertically. If it...

Bosch professional jigsaw blades for scaffolding boards

Actually, posting late and when my pain killers had begun kicking in fuzzied my thinking there.Thinking about it now, due to the "up and down" element of the blades motion, it isn't really strictly pendular either.I don't know what you'ld call the track made by the point of the blade? I think...
