Best finish to conceal dining table glue marks

Shallow cut the zig-zag "join" out completely ( as a straight sided "slot" ) full length and then insert full length ( glue and clamp down under a thick flat bord or a peice of thick MDF with a plank on top of it ) a piece of "inlay" wood the same colour as the pale part of the tiles. Thus giving...

    New Mafell router

It looks like something from Lidl's "performance" range :) Unless Mafell have lots of patents in there , in a year or so there may be a "clone" in the "middle aisle".

    Joke Thread III

If it involves harming or violence, to humans or animals, it is not funny, that includes **********, ****, sexism, and racism. Fun / pleasure is not something that one can have at another beings expense. The name for that is sadism. Or psychopathy. Saville used to make jokes about what he did...

    Bulk buying bowl blanks

Ask a tree surgeon, and then cut down ( or ask them to cut smaller for you* ) what you get from them. Works for most native woods you might need, if you don't cut down trees ( only the ones that need it, dangerous ones etc ) yourself. *Chainsaws cut faster than most tools, except sawmill...

2 part PU Acrylic ( Heavy Goods - Truck Grade ) industrial "clear coat" , Sikkens do these too..Spendy though..and best applied with a spray gun, unless you can brush varnish really really really* fast. *insert about a dozen or so more "really"s there. It 'll last about as long as a metallic...

    Teaching - Drilling

Personally I wouldn't call either of those "closed off gears", they ( the larger gear ) is facing inwards, but plenty of opportunity to get small fingers "nipped" in between them and the "pinion" gear on the shaft. Or between the larger gear and the shaft nearer the chest plate. There are some...

Veritas marking gauge looses its setting

I"d scuff the carp out of the shiny tube so it didn't slide when it wasn't supposed to. Strikes me as a design error, making it so smooth.

You'd have to laugh or you'd cry, or reach for the shotgun and go hunting "decision makers".

re The cost of handmade items making them unaffordable . Back in the 70s I had an involvement ( part owner ) with a craft shop in a relatively poor area. Nevertheless we did a brisk business in handmade items which in some cases cost half a weeks wages or more. We also sold "exotic wools" (...

@Adam W. Ah, I had to go and look up "CSCS card scheme" and "NVQ3" or indeed NVQ 1-7.Seems to be an unnecessarily complex and "spendy" system .The equivalents here are available , and studying and courses to obtain them are free. But they are not necessary in order to work. The ( since I was...
