Time for a bit of an update on this. Started off using the router and homemade trammel to cut arcs so templates can be made to make the curved rails for the island unit Using the bobbin sander in one of the spindle moulders to help shape parts for the jig This jig is for the inside face...

    Am I being unreasonable here?

I find at my local dump if a crate of Stella accidently falls out of the van when your unloading and you forget to pick it up the lads tend to turn a blind eye. Cheers Jon

    Why buy from AXMINSTER TOOLS?

Ive had some pretty poor service from axminster recently. Ordered earlier this year an edgebander and was told 4 weeks delivery which I was ok with. After 4 weeks there was no sign of it and no contact from axminster advising on the delay. After getting peed off and emailing them i got a reply...

    Kitchen corner

I would usually make the fillet about 60mm x 60mm so if you've got 20mm thick doors it's spaced off 40mm. If its a framed kitchen I just make the frames meet up to form the fillet. As pip said if you've bought in the kitchen the fillet should be supplied or are you making you own doors? Cheers Jon

    Media unit (Fitted)

Looking good and heavy Alan . Just a word of warning about bubble wrap it can eat the pattern into fresh paint quite easily as I've found out to my cost before as some kitchen doors had a nice dotty pattern all over them where the paint ha reacted with the plastic. Cheers Jon

    Walnut and painted WIP

I've never noticed any problems Brian. The panels that go together in the bag have always been the balance sapele veneers. I imagine the veneer tape is too thin to make it a problem. Cheers Jon

    wood veneers

I don't think veneer is particularly expensive as a material. I havent bought any cherry for a while but have just bought some black walnut which should be a similar price and that was £4 per square metre or about 40p per square foot. Cheers Jon

    How did you do it?

The most important thing I feel is the ability to produce quality work. Once you can do the quality the next thing is to be able to do it quickly enough to make a profit. If you can do both and get some good word of mouth going you should be ok. I do very little marketing as work generally comes...
