    Hegner Multicut 2 blade clamps

I think you will find that Sagepay is a third party payment service, some companies use it to receive card payments. I have certainly paid companies using these services. paying is similar to using Paypal but you don't have an account with Sagepay like you do with paypal. The only difference as...

    Hegner Multicut 2 blade clamps

My advice would be to phone Hegner UK and ask them, Another member in another thread here discovered that even when the website reports out of stock, if you speak to them on the phone they may have them. BTW I wouldn't worry too much about the size, I have all sizes and use any of them with any...

    Hobbies "Triumph" treadle scroll saw.

Just to answer a few of your questions. Firstly you have a very nice machine there, compared to the A1 there are not many Triumph machines still about. It is a shame you don't have the table for the saw as it was much nicer than the A1's table being rectangular rather than round as on the A...

Hegner Multicut 2 (1992) Quick Release upgrades

Good show Mr Christopher, glad you are sorted. I agree with AES on both counts. Firstly that the price you paid for a brilliant machine that will last a lifetime and will be a joy to use and secondly the prices charged by Hegner for spare parts are totally out of proportion for the parts...

    Which Fuse ?

I shall only say that as a fully qualified electrical engineer I disagree with this comment, However as I don't wish to enter into another argumentative discussion with you I shall not respond further.

    Vice for scroll saw projects

Afraid I can't offer any advice on 'sanding' I am hopeless at it and have always detested doing it. Generally with the stuff I do the use of reverse tooth blades means I only normally need to sand the faces of the work not the edges. As Lofty says it's always a good idea to sand the faces of...

    Which Fuse ?

Well I have opened up a 'Hornets nest' here. I do speak with some experience here having spent all my working life in the Radio/TV/electrical repair business and running my own Electrical company for the last 30 odd years of my working life. In actual fact the standard UK plug fuse is available...

    Which Fuse ?

Personally I would fit a 13amp fuse. Starting current can sometimes be five times actual running current. I spent most of my life in domestic appliance maintenance and we were always told by Hoover that we should use 13 amp fuses even on their machines rated at just 400watts. In the case of a...

Sorry to be a killjoy but IMHO hold down arms not only get in the way they are entirely unnecessary. I have never used or needed one and in my videos I always advise beginners to remove them. holding the work down as you cut soon becomes second nature. :)

You are much too modest, the words I wrote are true. That is the joy of a scroll-saw which many people fail to realise and that is that these saws are not just for Fretwork they are very good general purpose saws that are very useful in the workshop. My saw gets used a lot more for general...

    Finally opened my workshop doors.

I am so glad you are back on here with us Brian. Now I don't want to embarrass Brian and many members here will be well aware of his skills but for any people here who are perhaps recent members I just want to tell you what a decent and indeed very clever fellow he is. Just a few short years...

You are very kind with your comment, however I must say that there are a lot of members here far more experienced than myself who offer a huge amount of help to beginners. There are some very helpful decent people who post here. :)

AES knows more about the hobby than I do and what he says is 100% correct in regard to cutting 12mm plywood. however in your post you mention stack cutting 2 x 12mm plys together and although many scroll-saws will cope with this it will be quite hard work and I would not want to do much cutting...

    Scroll saw footplate

My wooden sub table is a piece of mdf just 6mm thick, makes virtually no difference to cutting.

    Scroll saw footplate

Why not make a simple wooden over table not only does it allow a smaller blade hole it is more comfortable to use and certainly warmer to the hands in winter. You can see my over table in several of my videos inc the one linked here, The table is seen around the 1:50 mark.

Please can someone help me purchase a scroll saw please?

The cheap badged Chinese are Ok for general woodwork and simple fretwork but if you want to do more complex fretwork with lot's of internal cuts they are not suitable unless of course you have unlimited time and patience. I give reasons for my view on this in my video "Choosing a scrollsaw why...

Please can someone help me purchase a scroll saw please?

The only thing I can add here is that what AES says above I agree with 100%. There are lot's of machines out there that are pretty much the same apart from colour, name and the odd fitment, they do work and can do the job that a small bandsaw does and in some cases are better but for serious...

    Change blade type

You can buy little adaptors for these sort of blade holders to enable you to use standard fretsaw blades. You can if you wish make some simple ones yourself. If you want to try it out for free just take the metal part with screw from inside an electrical terminal block and use it as a blade...

I agree with all that Jim (above) says, The foot just gets in the way, you don't need it. You just need to hold the work down firmly.
