    Quick change blade clamps

If you are anything like me that is a decision you will never regret, I bought my Hegner 17 yrs ago and every time I use it I appreciate what a super machine it is, I never have regretted buying it. (unlike some other machinery I have purchased through the years)

    Hegner scroll saw repair?

Be careful with that motor! It is not a motor that is controlled by any old type of speed controller. Hegner uses a special induction type motor which needs a special speed controller, most normal 'bog' standard speed controllers only work with universal series wound motors (carbon brush motors)...

    Sawdust Art

I don't collect sawdust but I am a wood 'sniffer', It's something I have had for years, I often sniff the cut end of a piece of wood to identify it. I do like the smell of Oak but rarely have any. My all time favourite is European Redwood, I just love that oily turpentine smell when I cut it. :)

    hegner parts?

Agree about the graphics tablet, it seems much more natural using a pen rather than a mouse especially in programmes like Photoshop and Coreldraw but they take a hell of a lot of getting used too! :)

    hegner parts?

Afraid I disagree with that comment, I bought my Hegner in 1999 and I think it's brilliant, mine is in regular use and both my 9yr old and 12 yr old grandsons use it all the time. It's built like a 'brick chicken house' and is one of those quality machines that will still be good and working in...

    hegner parts?

Hegner spares are ridiculously overpriced, How on earth can they charge £23 for a plastic bellows, As I have mentioned before when my on/off switch went o/c they wanted £24 + p&p, it's a bog standard mini rocker that can be bought at most electronic suppliers for less than £1.00! Hegner make...

    A shocking tale...

Very sorry that all those bad things happened to you, you have had a hard time of it, glad that you seem to have got your life back again. Best of luck to you. As others say, would be nice to see your website. :)

    Cyclones

I set up my own home made system using standard guttering downpipes with a home made collector box made of recycled plywood with an old vac motor on top it has lots of bends and the box is outside the workshop, I use this on the planer/thicknesser and it works fine, only on a few odd occasions...

    Saw won't start

What you say is correct and in an ideal world everything works out just fine, however in practice getting who you bought the item from to actually do as you say is not that easy even when the Consumer Rights Act is on your side, it's difficult enough to get things sorted under a 12 month...

Duarte, is this diagram any use to you?

    Hobbies treadle fretsaw

Don't pay £30 for an old Hobbies annual, that is way to much, they are not actually worth much to most people, only a few people are interested in old hobbies handbooks and even then they have to be pre 1940's to be of any real value to a buyer. I speak as someone who has collected old Hobbies...

    .........

I wish you would hurry up and get the 'blighter' out of the box so we can have a good look at it. I am very much looking forward to your extensive review of the saw, perhaps you could do a little video showing us what it can do? :)

    .........

Lol, I had exactly the same thoughts! As soon as I saw the picture I wondered what was in the boxes on top? It's a lovely feeling receiving parcels. As you say the pallet is a bonus. :)

    Cheap 12v Vacuum cleaner

My late friend and myself built a dust extraction system for his small workshop by placing it outside. It was basically I large tall wooden box with a motor unit on top obviously we made it weatherproof but the advantages were that because it was outside it was quiet (in the workshop) It had a...

    Cheap 12v Vacuum cleaner

The reason people often use a second 'receptacle' is so that they can increase the capacity of dust collection, so you could have a smaller suction device (vac) collecting into a much larger container, as Brian says the waste does not go into the device (cleaner).

    Arrrhhh ! blade broke.

Indeed, I let both my 9 yr old and 12 year old grandsons use my Hegner but would not let them near other saws. :)
