    Axminster-Trade-Series-AWFS18-Scroll Saw

A bit mean if you ask me, on an order like that one would think they could throw in the extra blades you wanted for free. Crafty too, by getting you to order via their website they are saving on ebay fees!

    Fretworker website

Thanks for that. I have a separate section for both Hobbies and Handicrafts see screen-shot below. (This is only a snapshot, more will be added and it may change from what is here) I do indeed intend to have links to the New Hobbies company on the site together with info on how they were...

    Fretworker website

Thanks folks. For some unknown reason I have always had an intense interest in both the Hobbies and Handicrafts companies, it may stem from my fore-bearers, My Late Grandfather was a keen fretworker who actually started his business by giving fretwork lessons, this led to him dealing with the...

    Fretworker website

(Note to the Mods, would you mind this being in the scroll saw section at least for a short time as it is aimed at Scroll saw enthusiasts) Don't get excited! I have done a bit on Google sites and show a couple of screen shots below. I would be grateful if any experts here or anyone interested...

    Making a simple website

Hi Phil I like Freeola I use their email addresses, however you have to use them as a ISP for their free hosting etc and I am not with them. :)

    New Boy on the Forum

Hi Stuart, it's good to have you here, The more people that use scroll saws the better, scroll sawing is not widely practised so it's good to hear another convert! :)

    Making a simple website

Well I registered with wordpress for a free site but can't seem to get anywhere at all, it just keeps showing a blog post with none of my content, it goes not seem at all intuitive, at least with Goggle sites I managed to get something on the page!

My first scroll-saw. Now, what to do with it?

I do hope I am not stating the obvious here but are you aware that fretsaw blades almost always have a bias (usually to the right) due to the manufacturing process? You get used to this eventually and compensate for it without any thought. :)

    (Techy!) More neg/slide scanning...

I am not a serious photographer (used to do my own d&p etc but not now) but I had many 100's of slides to convert and lot's of B&W negs that I had processed but not printed. I had an Epson perfection 2400 which at the time cost me about £100. It has an adaptor for negs and another for doing 4...

Quick release clamp for Hegner Multicut 1

I find the added pin makes an enormous difference in how fast you can tighten the blade and how less wearing it is on fingers when doing lot's of internal cuts. TBH I don't understand why Hegner does not do this on their official part!

    Glue Guns

Can I just say that the glue sticks do vary even within the same supposed size. For general use there are basically 2 sizes, 7mm for small guns TBH I don't find the small ones of much use but they may be OK for small model-making? The other size is 11mm but beware they do vary even when listed...

    Glue Guns

Regarding hot melt guns, I use mine for lots of things, for example making a dust extractor box that needs to be airtight, I run a bead of hot melt glue around the seams which makes a decent seal, I also use mine for sticking fabric or sticking stuff together while the main adhesive sets. My...

    Making a simple website

Thanks for that. I only placed it in the Scrollsaw forum initially as that is where I spend most of my time plus the proposed site is connected with that subject. I guessed it would be moved; in fact I was surprised it stayed there as long as it did, so thanks for that. Thanks to everyone for...

    Glue Guns

I find glue guns very useful for lot's of things but not for general woodwork. The Range sell a decent one at £11.99, it comes with a mounting base and the gun when hot can be lifted off and used cordless or you can plug the lead in and use it as any normal glue gun...

    Making a simple website

Thanks for the comments folks. I wanted a website rather than a forum or a facebook page for the following reasons. Forum. Several already exit inc this one which is the best. However as I mentioned in an earlier post, when I spend ages typing (yes my typing and composition is very slow) out...

    First week with Axminster EX-16

If as you say you are new to this that is some pretty neat cutting if I may say so. The rest of us are going to have to watch out! Keep reporting on your work and of course any comments on the saw are always of great interest to all of us, especially people looking to buy. :)
