    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

It amuses me when they find a painting was not painted by the famous artist but by his child/babysitter/neighbour/dog. The artwork is then no longer worth £50,000,000, it's worth £20. So effectively the signature is worth £49,999,980 and the painting twenty quid.

    Winter fuel Payments.

A perfectly sensible view - why should we subsidise other people to have children they can't afford? Bye.

    No Fault Evictions

Ome beautiful house three away from my old house had holes punched in the walls, and every socket and ceiling rose had the wiring cut behind it. A neighbour's son., a sparky has worked on council houses that have had to be totally gutted after only being occupied for weeks by people the council...

    Stop importing people.

    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

The lefty assumption is that is that everyone is entitled to someone else's money.

    No Fault Evictions

Maybe you could explain why someone who doesn't own the property has more rights to the property than the person who owns it? By the same logic a shoplifter has more rights to the products he stole than the shopkeeper who owns them.

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

The grate plate is a solid sheet, too, not a grating. They said in their marketing blurb when I bought mine that they'd never had to repair one in all their existence, so 30+ years at that time but if one ever needs repair any competent welder could do it.

    car boot find

Not a car boot, but a second hand book shop. £15, 868 pages. I couldn't resist.

    Attention all wet shavers

I was bought a three head Phillips electric razor for my fifteenth birthday, I used to get sent home from school to shave. I used that for a few years til I gave up.

It's 8mm iirc. And no, it doesn't warp.

    What joke?

    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

Four years is long enough for them to revert to type and screw up? Four weeks, and they're well on the way.

    Attention all wet shavers

An old, hollow Norton, I hope.

    Bench joiner's job

I remember the chippie I worked with many years ago - £2.50 an hour and they want f***ing Chippendale!

    Liberon hard wax oil finish

Some people use sanding sealer - I use it only in desperation. I find hot water good for preventing the grain being raised by the polish. Sand the work to a finished condition, then wet it with hot water or even steam. Allow it to dry then give it a wipe with very fine abrasive or steel wool...

    Attention all wet shavers

Wow! In the last 50 years I'd have used one pack of razor blades instead of two.

    Labour's Employment Rights Bill

I suspect that at least in recent years much of the Country has averages below London and the S.E. - that tends to be the hottest in summer. We regularly hear a forecast of 30c - 33c and think great .............. then realise that our forecst is 10c - 13c lower. Our winters are warmer though...

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

Yes, this is how it should be. The "halo" is an insulated duct through a 6" in line fan which takes the heat to the bedroom and the kitchen.

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

Mine is brilliant. Having no fire bricks, it heats up in minutes. Nothing in them to go wrong or to need replacing, there's no ongoing costs. I had a Clearview in the last house, which was an excellent stove, but we paid the penalty for not burning bone dry ash all the time - 20 years ago it...
