    New Diesel & Petrol Ban

I remember the gasometers in Redruth, they were about 100 yards from Murdoch's house (I doubt they were anything like original). Redruth was the first place in the world with gas street lighting.

That was a two way vote. FPTP may well have been a fair system when there were only two Parties.

Use it. They're pretty, but they will fade.

The purple seems to come from water hitting any iron inclusions. Unfortunately (to me) yew turns a mahogany colour with exposure to air and light.

    New Diesel & Petrol Ban

I've never quite understood the naivety of people who think the only corrupt politicians are Tories.

A government elected with fewer than one person in every five voting for them has to put an end to any claim that FPTP is a fair and democratic system.

    The Cheapest Energy So Far

Incidentally I find their sign off - "Love and power" - condescending and irritating.

    The Cheapest Energy So Far

Well, I'm changing from 17/10. Prompted in part by Octopus customer service's being non existent.

    Interesting plastic drilling

I often found where appearance wasn't necessarily the most import consideration that it was better to melt the holes through than to drill them.

You don't understand what such data isn't made available on a daily basis? Because it's rarely that good. https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2024/10/01/floating-wind-farm-lost-30m-last-year/ https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GYtxxdtXkAA_d_h?format=jpg&name=medium

    mortise chisel for cordless drill

I have a small Rexon morticer. As good a little machine it is it's a pig to push into oak and the like - you wouldn't have a hope in hell of doing it with a hand held drill.

    Blood (without the gore!)

I gave 43 before they would take no more because of prescription drugs - when I had serious operations that need blood on standby I felt no guilt. I worked with a J.W. - he told me one day how blood transfusions were wrong. I told him he should go and find all the people that were alive because...

Folkstone Fixings (FFX) placed into Administration

We used to buy locally. One place shut for lunch 12pm - 1pm, two 12.30pm - 1.30pm, one 1pm - 2pm. By the time you found what you were looking for (if you were very lucky) you'd have wasted half your working day, although often you wouldn't have - you'd get the standard response, we can get it...

    R.I.P Kris.

Well, I woke up Sunday morning With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad So I had one more for dessert Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes And found my cleanest dirty shirt And I washed my face and combed my hair And stumbled down the...
