    Rail and Stile Ratios

Hello All, Is there guidance or Golden Rule regarding Rail and Stile ratios/widths? Some internal cupboard shaker style doors along a wall each 'gap' is aprox 1000mmx1050mm so 500/1050 doors (plus overlap). Will likely go for an intermediate/middle Rail. First foray into shaker doors and i'm...

2nd hand Sip 1332 vs start rite?

Hi all, I’ve an MFT for panels but looking for table saw to go with it, general home/hobby use. Budget around £500 which would get me a startrite or Sip 01332 which would replace a dewalt site saw, so either one an upgrade. Any thoughts on which way to go? some great startrite rebuilds on here...

What sort of hinge is this

Yes, searched for storm and cranked, but only found them with single set of holes on each ‘butt’ and none in the middle section. Guess I can just drill and countersink them. Thanks for ideas all.

Can owners of Triton routers (or similar) suggest a router benchtop table?

I’ve a Kreg plate I didn’t end up using, I’ll pop it in the for sale section. It’s for the tra001, so not sure about the MF.

    Gout 😥

So early forties for me, my trigger is beige/heavily processed food, so probably a good thing I try and control it. Strangely I also think diet free drinks and Weiss beer can cause an episode but may just be coincidental. If I get a twinge i’ll take a naproxen as soon as I can and that way I’ll...

So, do most of you use sketch up for your designs?

A5 Black book and pencil For me - that way I can very quickly flick back and see how designs progress. Ie rough out sketch with rough sizes through to finish sketch with accurate dimensions and cutting list with bill of materials. Back of book for all working out/rough stuff and when...

hello all, building mitre saw workbench from some old kitchen cabinets, a run of three units with the mitre saw between two of them so it’s surface is flush with the workbench top. The bench ‘worktop’ will be plywood bonded to Mdf, both 18mm. To give me a clean edge I plan to finish it with a...

    How would you join this?

Hello all, building base for a cabin to sit on. I’ll be laminating 2x4’s, but wondering best way to ‘butt’ joint at the corners? Picture below from tinterweb where I’m guessing they’ve nailed through. The base will be sat flat on a series of paving stones. Thanks for help.

    Cutting lubricant/spray

Same here, cutting lube for metal but not for wood. Wax/paraffin on the beds but not much else.

    Cutting lubricant/spray

For bandsaw/tablesaw use lots of ytubers seem to be using an aerosol cutting spray? Is this just a PTFE type spray and if so does it not mess with the tyres on a bandsaw? Would it not also collect up the ‘gunk’ and turn into an abrasive compound? Asking for woodwork not metal work. Thanks all.

Gosh no Padster, good you took the time to respond, appreciate that, sometimes I have been guilty of looking in the obvious places.

The sticky is handy Padster, but nothing local for Lincoln, hence asking the question.
