    Loft bed support

As per a previous post I am looking to build a loft bed. I've got an alcove that is 2500mm long and 600mm wide. It's an obvious spot for it although longer than required. My intention is to use the three walls to support a bed base. So I'll get some 4"x2" and run it round the three walls, then...

    Tool Box

My last box had a full length tote (Stanley) and it was good but you had to keep it reasonable balanced or you'd pick it up and it would tilt and if it was badly unbalanced everything would tip out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    60th wedding anniversary

I hope you got your telegram from the queen! My in laws celebrated their 60th just before Christmas and my wife sorted the telegram for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lost and Found

I don't lose much overall. My workshop is pretty organised so I put everything back in its place. However I do have the issue of losing things whilst using them. Put something down and two seconds later I can't find it despite the fact I've been using it all day and it doesn't matter if it's...

    Tool Box

Yes! I don't want all the extra weight of a wooden box and I don't really have the time or inclination to make a box. I've got more important projects. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Suggestions on how to improve my workshop

I made my workbenches a little higher than you might normally but that means I can store my table saw and router table underneath. As others have said keep things on castors. Use the height for storing little used items. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Next project - MDF??

You do need to wear a mask when using MDF. It does cut nicely and can be painted well (although really needs a good primer). Plenty of nice examples on here. I think it is just the dust that needs to be considered and people will wear masks for cutting but people do seem to forget that dust...

    Tool Box

Thanks guys. The systainer insert is the sort of thing I had I mind but doesn't look like I'd get much in it. Might have to make my own. The Stanley box is similar to what I had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Sentimental Chopping Board

Could you take something from the old board and use it in the new? Maybe a strip down the middle or something like that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tool Box

I recently dropped a very heavy object on my Stanley tool box and it is no more. To be fair the main box actually survived it was the plastic accessories draws on top that got smashed. Anyway I'm after new tool box. Just the basics need to go in: Set of screw drivers 4 chisels Tape measure...

Slightly whacky idea - any suggestions

Thanks for all the ideas. Went to IKEA today and you guys were right we can live with it being a little low so you have to duck your head as you walk under. It's not worth worrying about. Although I like the idea still! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Sorby ProEdge

Been keen on getting one of these for a while. I have a grinder and it, and more importantly I, don't do a very good job. I found that when trying to hollow I constantly get catches and I think it's down to lack of sharpness. My Father in Law has a Pro edge and whilst with him recently I...

Slightly whacky idea - any suggestions

As per the title I've got a slightly nuts idea. I am looking to build a loft bed for my middle daughter. No problem with that but our house is only a few years old and has relatively low ceilings. She wants to have a desk under her bed. Having had a bit of a measure up I'm not sure that it will...

A portable workshop build, By a Matthius Wandell type

I was only watching on my phone so didn't see up next only a link to a router table build. The overhead router was cool. I did have similar thoughts about the riving knife and saw guard. It actually makes feel a little nauseous when I see that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Best Bow Saws?

Depending on your use, have you considered silky saws? A bow saw might be best for what you're doing if you a cutting a lot of very big logs but a silky might be better if you're doing more branches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What tool did you buy today?

I'm waiting to get a box to send my TS200 back! The blade and riving knife are badly aligned and as such it makes cutting (especially ripping) very difficult as the wood wants to stop when it reaches the riving knife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
