    strange bandsaw cut

I put a tuff saw blade in mine yesterday and it has revolutionised my saw. Honestly it's like I've bought a model two or three further up the price scale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

my first spatula made from OAK

Oddly had this conversation with a butcher friend of mine down the pub tonight. He was saying that it used to be plastic boards but they have now been proven to be not as good as wood (for butchering) because the natural oils in the woods can be anti bacterial whereas the plastic boards hold...

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Fitted a tuff saw bandsaw blade and changed the speed setting on my bandsaw and it's like a new machine. Very happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Bandsaw for £10!

Sorry I didn't make my original post clear. What I was really saying was txt buying a new blade for £10 feels like I've bought a brand new machine as it feels so different. It is brilliant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Festool Vac voucher

Oh and I have tried the domino without extraction and I wouldn't recommend it. It still cuts but the hole is full of saw dust and you can't get a domino in properly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Festool Vac voucher

Ah to clarify, I have a dust extraction system in the workshop so I just plug a Festool hose into a blast gate and away I go (all remote controlled). So that's all good, but it's for when I'm away from the workshop. We have a undercover area outside our house (on the driveway under one of the...

    Skoda Scout

Lol! I know you have. Sorry I did take this thread off topic. I've actually got back from a Land Rover meeting! Oh and you know I said touch wood - I need a new battery! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Sale of goods.. etc

There is PayPal dispute as mentioned but I also believe their is PayPal buyer protection? Worth looking at that? I believe with that they refund you and then get the funds back from the supplier? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Skoda Scout

My Disco is a Discovery 3, it's done 180,000 miles now! No major problems. (Touch wood) I take mine off road so I go through pads and discs more than most, and things like wheel bearings, calipers and CV joints all take a bit of a battering, but I love it. It's part of the family. My best ever...

    Festool Vac voucher

Just did some routing with the 1400, plugged into a Festool hose which was then held together by hand to a dyson! I have dust extraction in the workshop but nothing mobile. MrsStu was impressed with how much dust the system collected but I don't think she liked holding the hoses together so the...

    Festool Vac voucher

Last year I got a voucher for £50 off a Festool vac. I'm not sure if I got it because I bought a track saw or if they went out to any customer. I've just bought an OF 1400 and after using it today have decided that a Festool Vac would be useful but having us £50 off previously I wonder if I'll...

    Domino in 12mm ply

It's a lot of effort that nobody will really appreciate! Since taking the photo I've boarded the right side of the steps and rounded over the tops of each step. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Skoda Scout

Well I'd say a Discovery but that might not fit in your budget. However they are the best vehicle in the world and that's an end to that conversation! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vapour barrier.... what should I use?

Damo, not my area of expertise I'm afraid. However I did build a spa house for the hot tub last year so I hope you'll be doing work in progress photos etc! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    PENCIL

I have a mains powered sharpener on my work bench as I hate blunt pencils. I do however tend to use a propelling pencil these days. I too always seem to have disappearing pencils. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What tool did you buy today?

TS meaning table saw? Surely you want the biggest most powerful router in that and the Katsu for hand held round overs / trimming?

    Mft hole jig on YouTube

I confess I heard the same thing when I asked them at the weekend. They looked on their system and it said 130 orders waiting and stock of 100 expected in July. I feel sorry for Peter as I do feel Axminster have let him down as it really is his name on the product. Sent from my iPhone using...

    New Bandsaw for £10!

Yeah I think my old blade must have been in poor shape (first bands saw and this first blade) I'm not sure how much of an improvement the tuff saw blade is over a new Axminster one but the combination of new blade and faster speed setting has made the world of difference. Sent from my iPhone...

    Airshield pro.

The positive pressure on the Axy option is 160l/m? That's huge, I cant see a big gulp of air being a problem. To give you an idea when hospitals put people on Oxygen then tend to be around 2litres per minutes. I would think. It would be quite cooling in the summer as well. Sent from my iPhone...

    New Bandsaw for £10!

My Axminster HBS250N is about 18 months old and so I thought it was about time I bought a new one. I don't like to have old things in the workshop. So I replaced it with exactly the same model but a new blade and I changed the speed setting at the same time, might as well have bought a new...
