    How to

I do have a scroll saw but it doesn't work - needs to be looked at. I've never used it though. I could easily simplify the lettering to just J & H and not worry about a date. So that is an option. Thanks for the ideas and information guys. A few things a food for thought / testing. Sent from...

    How to

I thought I might turn a handle! :-) I also thought I might dovetail the sides to make the box. It was just the general idea I liked. I'll probably make it in oak.

What's the laser printer iron on method? Does it just mean print back to from and then iron on over the wood? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm looking to make something similar to this: How can I get the writing on there? It's for a wedding so looking to do something very similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Budget F clamps?

I bought a couple of Aldi ones recently. They work out at £2.50 each! They're ok. Ideal if you need lots of clamps along a long join rather than a single clamp with loads of pressure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    serious road traffic incident.

Series 1? Land Rover? Better off with a 200tdi defender as a series 1 is appreciating in value and should be cherished. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What did you do in your workshop today ?

We only have 2 bins. It annoys me that they want us to recycle glass (which I agree with) but won't collect it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Which pocket hole jig, and package ?

I use a Bessey kwik klamp with my R3 (I don't take the K5 one out as I have the R3, but I'm sure it would be the same). It works well. Although I wouldn't buy the Bessey just for that, I already had one and thought I'd try it rather than buying the specific clamp. Sent from my iPhone using...

    which Mft hole making jig

I'd have to measure it to work out how small you can go. Although probably not as small as with a template. But I guess you need a small template as a big one will be difficult to balance on a stool. To be fair I don't think there is a lot of difference in the methods. I say that because how...

    Post cards

I am from the "can't be arsed" generation and hate doing postcards. However it is nice for the grand parents to see that the kids are having a nice time. I discovered touchnote. It's an app that lets you choose photos etc and then you can send them as a postcard. We used it from Florida and...

Which pocket hole jig, and package ?

I think the side "wings" on the K5 make a big difference as well as the clamp. For me I didn't want to save £30 and to have the K4 and be constantly wishing I'd bought the K5, especially as I had the R3 already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Clamping Pressure Of Aldi Clamps

I think the clamps are good value but a £2.50 clamp is highly unlikely to be as good a the Bessey equivalent, but it's 1/20th of the price. However I do think that I will get a lot of use out of them and get value from my £2.50! Sometimes cheap is just a waste of money but sometimes cheap is...

    Need a band saw

I'd agree with Terry. I have the Axminster. I bought it on a bit of a whim when it was on a deal. I thought a table saw and a CSMS was all I'd need. Turns out I use my Bandsaw more than any other. A little while ago I bought a tuff saw blade after people raved about them on here and I also...

    Clamping Pressure Of Aldi Clamps

I bought a load of them and they are ok. Well they are very good value for money but they're not the best in the world. However if you need a decent number of clamps then they work out well. I made a rack for mine and for £50 I've got a lot of clamps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    which Mft hole making jig

I've got the Parf guide system. I got it because I want to make a square pattern in various tops from time to time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Which pocket hole jig, and package ?

Most of the Kreg jigs come with the square driver. I think it's only the mini or micro that doesn't. I've got the R3 (I think that's the model) and K5 and both are excellent. I started with the R3 and loved it but found that I wanted to use it more and it was a bit slow having to be cramped...

    New Festool product

Mike that's a very sweeping statement. Some of the posts are just rubbish and I find I have to sweep them to one side in order to get a handle on the situation. Sometimes I think it would be better if the mods were changed about - you know the "new broom sweeps clean" mentality. Sent from my...

    Facebook

I am not a Facebook fan but I do think it has its place and I do use it. The thing to remember is that you can link to whoever you want and you don't even have to view what they post if you don't want to. For example I have a friend who is that classic Facebook user who is constantly putting up...

    serious road traffic incident.

Just to add you want one with a good lens and Hi resolution or you'll struggle to read a number plate in most situations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    serious road traffic incident.

Yes I think most will record that. I've got a cheap one and it's not great. The Blackvue ones are very good. I also saw some great reviews of the next base ones in Halfords. I think they start at £50 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
