    How to

Ah where are you based? If they won't ship to you I'll happily get some and forward it to you. Never used the stuff or know much about it but I do know where to get it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    A blast from the past...

Ah Tommy Cooper! Very clever man. I thought Are you being served was ok, not sure if it could make a series. I expected to not like porridge as I think Ronnie B was fantastic in that and I couldn't see it working but I was pleasantly surprised and think a series of that could be good. Phil...

    Dovetail jig

I assembled the jig today, two things stood out: 1 it's really well made and excellent quality. I'm very impressed with the construction. 2 The manual is just about the best manual I've seen. Detailed steps with large colour photos for each step. Not used it yet though but hopefully I'll...

    How to

I believe Modge Podge is used for decopage or decopatch not sure which is correct as its not my thing. I love going to Axminster in Basingstoke as Hobby Craft is next door so I can go into Axminster and be as leisurely as I like as MrsStu loves hobby craft. It's a brilliant paring. All they...

    How to

I am intending to take Mike up on his offer but I did see this today: https://youtu.be/_lTh4JJyZtA Any idea what product I can use to try this in the UK? A water based polyurethane. I wondered if Osmo did one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oak framed building - any interest in a thread?

AJ - can't believe you had to ask if there would be interest! Let's see it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sometimes you luck out. I found a toolbox by chance.

I do find some of the language odd. Especially how bad can mean good. "It's well sick" or somewhat older term "wicked" Love the sound of the shop though. My dad used to work in a very traditional hardware store. You could buy nails by weight etc. They had a very old petrol pump out the back...

    Axminster AWHBS250N Bandsaw guide bearings

I've got the same saw - I love it and buying a tuff saw blade gave it a new lease of life, like a big power upgrade! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Axminster AWHBS250N Bandsaw guide bearings

Axminster will sell them. You may have a wait if they aren't in stock but they will supply all parts for their kit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    First Fix Nailers

As in a Brad Nailer? I have one but don't use it much as I don't like the indents it leaves. I tend to use pocket holes and dominos for most joints. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Festool Product

Just looked and Screwfix do Flexovit sanding pads 6 for £6.99 so the Festool ones seem half the price of that. Not sure where you get sanding pads from for 10p? Any links? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Festool Product

Yes I've posted this in hand tools and no it's not an error. Today I bought what I think is something new from Festool (happy to be told it's not new) but I found hand held sanding pads. I was mooching around Axminster having picked up what I needed and saw a stand full of sanding pads from...

    Dovetail jig

Well I ended up with the UJK jig in the end. I popped into Axminster and looked at their cheap one, the UJK and the Leigh. The cheap one to be fair looked ok but the UJK felt much better made with better quality materials. The Leigh looked good and I was a tiny bit tempted but I doubt I'll use...

    Wine Carrier

Well they aren't going to go far but the indents fit snugly so they won't wobble. Not considered wings to support the stems. Not sure they need supporting but it might look more balanced and less tall in the middle. I might have a little play with that idea. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using...

    Wine Carrier

The indents work really well for the glasses as they really help hold them in. Not so much for the bottle. The front lettering is going to be laser etched thanks to a kind offer on here. The sides will be dovetailed and will be thinner. I know what you mean about the thickness but I have...

    Wine Carrier

As I have mentioned elsewhere I am building a wine and glass carrier for a wedding present. Today I thought that whilst I still haven't sorted what I'm doing about dovetails I would make a mock up in MDF just to see what I think to it and also I wanted to sort out some indents for the wine and...

Newbie shed made out of pallets

If you're using OSB on the outside and then cladding that and plaster board on the inside then I'm not sure what the pallets are for? To be honest the OSB isn't needed if you're cladding it. I built my spa house with shiplap boards for the outside and MRMDF to lunge and groove pattern for the...
