Nicely beveled slate coaster break ?

Exactly. Even hand-held slate shears (AKA slate scissors or slate pliers or slate cutters) use the same principle. If you are making repetitive cuts, you just need to make a jig/ table with a stop, and crack on.

    Library shelves

Indeed. As I intimated, designing a room like this will be a delight.

    ESTA disposable planer blades?

You're one sick puppy!! :) No-one in their right mind enjoys that job.

    Library shelves

Yes, that's the first time I've ever seen that done. They show up the sag in that centre section of shelving really nicely!! :)

Nicely beveled slate coaster break ?

Why do you say that? It produces less waste than any other method.

    Library shelves

To be clear, I'm not making this. I'm wearing my architect's hat and designing it (and I haven't even got close to starting it yet). I just know it's on the horizon, and wanted to be informed of the issues before having conversations with the other architects and with the clients. This project...

Nicely beveled slate coaster break ?

Both of those produce a riven edge. I think our OP wants a smooth beveled edge. Edit....re-reading the OP that's what he says he wants, and then goes on to show a riven edge. So yes, a slate guillotine is the answer. It's an easy thing to fabricate if you can't buy one ready-made.

    Buying habbits !

But anything you can do with a CNC you can do with standard tools. You maybe can't do it as quickly or efficiently, but lack of a CNC is hardly going to stop you taking a job on.

    Buying habbits !

Is there such a thing? Genuine question, but can you think of something a joiners shop or a carpenter couldn't do without a specific tool, given that they'll have all the standard tools already?

    Kitchen dresser

No, that's not quite so. I have to prevent movement in the bottom ends of the side pieces which would effect the gaps around the doors.

    Library shelves

No, it's going to be solid wood in a heavy classic style.....breakfront units with glazed doors, big carved pediments, and so on. I think the clients will probably suggest mahogany. The budget would probably build a small house.

    Library shelves

    It might do.

    That's excellent Jake, thanks.

Nicely beveled slate coaster break ?

Cut them as you have been doing, then use a belt sander/ linisher to clean up the edges and apply a bevel.

That bit I can manage. :)

    Black Walnut tree - Free.

Don't we have a Welsh member.........Chippy-something........who planks his own timber? I don't know what part of Wales he's from, but Brizzle is practically in Wales anyway. The thing with British walnut is that it can be very odd shapes, branching low down and often. What looks like a big...

    Kitchen dresser

I think in the battle between oak and pine, there is only one winner. If the oak wants to bend, no puny bit of pine is going to get in its way! :)

    Library shelves

I don't know the answer to that, but I have no doubt that we could control that to an extent. If we specify a beautiful library and agree a finish with the clients but tell them they'd need to wait X amount of time before filling the shelves, that would obviously play into the decision.
