Best humidifier for unheated garage workshop

With a humidifier, you would be fighting a losing battle and burning vast amounts of energy in the process. I good airtight cabinet with some low voltage heating elements would work. I am thinking about the type of elements used in home-brewing etc. Just enough to keep the moisture out.

    Need a new block plane

The Veritas is not heavy enough for me, my LN gets used most I also have a Clifton Low Angle Block which was a bit disappointing on first use, it's wide and does not sit in the hand as good as the LN. I'll find a use for it one day

New Shop Vac - Dust Collector

I am retiring my Fein 40Lt to the garage, I have some power tools in the garage and the car gets cleaned occasionally. I am tired of lugging the 40Lt Fein from the workshop to the garage, it's a heavy beast and there are numerous obstacles in the way. I'll use its replacement for hoovering...

    UJK Multifunction Workbench

I have been giving this some thought today and in simple terms, all I need is a flat work table with some dog holes in it and it doesn't need to be too long. The Trend option looked promising but poor review on the size of the holes. My idea at the moment is to buy an MFT top and rest it in a...

    UJK Multifunction Workbench

It has good reviews, I don't have to make a stand and it folds away, could be worth a punt

    UJK Multifunction Workbench

I am still debating the UJK Multifunction Workbench from Axminster, I went to have a look a few weeks ago and the trestles are definitely a non-starter, too flimsy. Reviews are mixed on the Axminster feedback, I am a Festool fan but can't justify the price of the Festool option. I only have...

    Kitchen Plinths and Freestanding Devices

Hi JobandKnock, it's MDF and routing it is the way I'll do it. Much neater than a jigsaw. I'll also bind the edge

    Kitchen Plinths and Freestanding Devices

To move the plinth back I would have to remove the kitchen :) - It made me think how far back the legs should be, if it was too far back it would look odd. Happy with the location as it is, I'll just have to cut a slot in the plinth.

    Kitchen Plinths and Freestanding Devices

I ran some tests with a piece of MDF cut just low enough so it does not snag the door. You can't see it unless you bed down. However, if my kitchen was 20ft wide and I was sitting on the opposite wall I would see it. That's the dishwasher sorted, I have not figured out the Freezer yet

    Kitchen Plinths and Freestanding Devices

Hi. I am installing plinths under my new kitchen cabinets, I have an integrated Dishwasher and Freezer side by side. I just noticed the door to the dishwasher will snag the top of the plinth when it opens and the freezer has vent. See picture attached. What are the options other than cutting...

Any UPVC / Solidor Craftsmen on this forum ?

I am looking to replace a hardwood door and frame in UPVC in an office building that I own. It's commercial so the front door needs to be open 9 - 5 for footfall traffic. I don't want a traditional type up down locking door handle, just push/pull open/shut etc. The Door clicks closed and is...

    Granite surface plate/flattening/where to buy?

I picked up some granite worktop offcuts from a Kitchen fitter, I was surprised when I ran a straight edge over it that it wasn't flat. Over 30" it was 0.005" out

    Best way to store planes?

I made a cabinet last weekend, I'll post a picture soon. My planes were kept in their boxes for protection and it was a pain to lift them in and out when I used them. Note, planes in an unheated garage or shed will most likely rust if not adequately protected.

    UJK Benches

It's a good alternative, thanks and worth considering. However, I work full time and my time in the workshop is very limited, restricted to about 3 or 4 hours on a Saturday and Sunday. I already spend 50% or of my time making jigs and not actually creating anything. I'll investigate it though...

    UJK Benches

I have been looking at one of these for a while, I have managed to think of about 4 or 5 different applications that I could use it for. I am frequently pulling together makeshift holding/clamping devices for certain jobs that the vice can't handle. I emailed Axmister asking about the pros and...
