I might have posted some c..p but this is diarrhea.

I have two SC3s threaded 3/4". They are directly threaded there is no insert. Only the larger SC4 is fitted with inserts. Adaptors ( M33f-3/4"m) are available. Axminster sell Jet made versions but they are not cheap. ( http://www.axminster.co.uk/spindle-thre ... rs-ax20851 )

Good advice above. You have chosen a fairly difficult wood to start your solo turning. Oak is tough and coarse grained. The judder you have experienced is the probably the fluctuating resistance as the tool cuts with and across the grain. This becomes more apparent as the tool loses its...

Apologies if you aware of this. The bearing does not rotate. It has a keyway that is pegged by a grubscrew situated at the back of the head casting. Do not attempt to remove the grubscrew with the bearing in place as it is has a rectangular profiled tip that engages the bearing keyway...
