Should I bother converting Wadkin AGS 10 to single phase?

Sorry for the late reply, I have taken a break from most forums while I caught up on various projects and family matters. I sold the AGS10 to a member of another forum a couple of months ago, he is very happy with it. I will be moving the AGS12 on at some point, although I have grown rather...

    Kitchen Cabinets

I guess I'm a hobbyist, definitely not professional, but I do seem to be making a lot of stuff recently, I have gone through a few bulk bags of dominoes. I'm just making a new posh chicken shed, the nest boxes are being made from 12mm external grade ply, fixed with Dominoes....

kitchen door hinges that allow drawers behind

Just got around to hanging the first inset door for the kitchen so made a quick mock up, mainly so I can test the jig I made to place the crucifix holes, they are the normal 37mm in from the front of the cab plus face frame thickness. Looks like the door projects 28mm into the cabinet, so on...

    Kitchen Cabinets

Thanks Monster I agree that ply may not be the flatest, but I hate working with MDF or chipboard. I edge shelves with oak to match the kitchen and being a face frame kitchen you don't see any other edges so the occasional void doesn't matter. I hate melamine too and edge banding, both can...

kitchen door hinges that allow drawers behind

I've just placed an order for all the fittings for the new kitchen including hinges. We will be having drawers in cupboards so this is of interest to say the least. I've had a look at the zero protrusion hinges, but they are only available for overlay not inset/face frame Looking at our old...

    Kitchen Cabinets

I'm making a kitchen for the first time, and its a face frame, and I've made my own carcasses. All dominoed/glued birch ply. Plenty strong enough. The sides are 18mm birch ply, the rear panel 9mm. I fit the rear immediately after assembling the rest of the carcass using glue and an air brad gun...

    Kitchen and utility refit WIP

Then on to oak face framing, the other side of the peninsular is done too, there are similar cabinets on the other side, 400 deep, except the far left on the far side where the cabinet is almost 850 deep, this was going to be where we kept the fold down occasional chairs but the wife has other...

    Kitchen and utility refit WIP

Its been a while since I updated progress on the kitchen. With the carcasses one side of the kitchen fitted and face frame added I started on the other side. Here's a view with temporary worktops. Its the same build methodology. First I welded a 25mm box frame up with adjustable feet...

    Electric vehicles

I queued up at the only filling station in the town a couple of weeks ago, it took me best part of 10 mins to get on a pump as people were buying their weekly shop after getting fuel and left their car at the pump. Then the pump only sold that stupid "advanced" fuel that costs more. I then...

    Electric vehicles

We don't have the faster 60kw , just the 40kw Leaf and it is no slouch and handles fine too. Leaves most ICE cars for dead away from the lights. Inside it's very plush, outside a bit bland as all Nissan's are.

    Electric vehicles

On our 3rd Leaf, brilliant cars. Looking at swapping the 14 year old disco for a plug in hybrid in couple of years as most trips are less than 20 miles.

    Rutlands panel clamps

Door fitted, I think that's a thumbs up for Rutland panel clamps, I have almost 30 doors and decor panels to make so I think they will earn their keep. At 40 quid each I think they are a tad expensive for what they are, but worth it if you have a fair few panels to make. Cheers Andy

    Rutlands panel clamps

The panel came out of the clamps nicely, after a bit of a sand to get rid of the glue/newspaper. I don't have enough timber to make a bookmatched panel, and I'm not going for that look, its all pretty random. Its a farm house kitchen and will get some use, I have a friend who's scared of...

    Rutlands panel clamps

I'm starting to make panels for kitchen doors from quarter sawn oak. When there is only two boards in the panel, its easy enough to use parallel clamps, but if you then take two of those to create a 4 board panel, it gets a bit difficult to line up and clamp, plus you have to wait for 2 sets of...

    Kitchen units

I'm not a kitchen fitter, so this is our kitchen so I have erm, maybe slightly over-engineered it a tad. But I have lots of 25mm box, a welder and like the idea of levelling up a whole run of cabinets and dropping them on. Also means I don't have to buy any plastic legs, I'm a Yorkshireman...

    Kitchen units

I may well do that when the missus goes away, nothing like renovating old cars and bikes in the kitchen when it's cold outside :) I wouldn't like to have my kitchen island or peninsular teetering on those plastic monstrosities. It only takes me an hour or so to make the frame, job done, fit and...

    Kitchen units

I weld up 25mm box section and fit adjustable feet to them. I then get the frame the right distance from the wall level the frame up, drop the cabinets on and job done. Here's one after welding and painting but before fitting the feet. The feet just knock into the legs. The plinth screws to the...

AGS10 3 phase to single phase conversion

A bit of an update on this, I still haven't finished it, but should be soon. Sorry to quote myself but think I should clarify my statement below from earlier in the thread It was true that I can wire the DoL starter switch in single phase mode, I did. However there are two catches that make it...

    Kitchen and utility refit WIP

I've added the face frame to the wall cabinets and started filling in the gaps in between :) I needed somewhere to hide several power supplies, cabling and other gubbins so created a space on the end cabinet. This is the door to it. and here it is fitted, its a pity I haven't got more wood...
