Table and fence for Meddings radial arm drill

I painted it early Monday morning in the utility room I'm refurbishing as its the only place warm enough masked painted and most of the masking removed, it is a brighter blue/green, the flash has washed the colour a bit. It's now nestling in my warm office hardening off before I start...

    Kitchen and utility refit WIP

I managed to get time for a quick peek at the sliders and hinges I bought to try out. The Hettich Quadro V6 full extension under-mount sliders are expensive but ooze quality and will work with a flush face frame, I think. All I need to do is have a two part drawer front and make sure the front...

    Kitchen and utility refit WIP

thanks for the kind words and glad to see others have the same thought processes :) I've been away working down south, which I do every week however this week my brother was down due his wife having a big operation. So I had two nights on the town, the first to keep his mind off his wifes...

    Kitchen and utility refit WIP

We have just about finished the heavy lifting in the extension, we knocked the wall out between the old bedroom and the new on Saturday and moved all the big bits of stone down between the floor joists and some big ones back up to match the existing sandstone head and cills of the window that is...

I love restoring old machines, that is lovely, I'm looking forward to the rest of the resto. :)

Table and fence for Meddings radial arm drill

The missing bolts in the old head turned out to be snapped bolts, I could drill and tap but I have the other head stripped down and nearly ready for paint so the contents of the head on the drill will be transferred to the new casting in about a week or so. Here' the new head being filled ready...

    Kitchen cabinet standards?

Will do once they are delivered and I can confirm they are what I think they are :)

    Kitchen cabinet standards?

It took a while but I found some inset face frame Hettich hinges to try. I also just realised that full extension bottom mounted hinges may have trouble working with an inset face frame drawer - doh! I'm sure I need a drawer in the workshop :)

    Kitchen cabinet standards?

The feet for the steel frame base have arrived, and I've ordered some lower cost blum drawer bottom runners for inside cabinets and some more expensive Hettich drawer bottom runners for drawers that need a bit of adjustment to get the fit right. Both 450mm deep. The plan is to make a 600 wide...

    Chop saw recommendation?

Thanks Mike there are are couple of youtube vids of similar mods to the collection chute on the Bosch glide, here's one of 'em and another :) I'll probably get around to doing something similar one day but I have a big list of stuff to do at the moment :) Cheers Andy

    Chop saw recommendation?

I've hooked up the RAS to the workshop extraction and although not perfect, it isn't bad. I've seen a few other mods on YouTube that I may try eventually but it is good enough for now. Here's a picture of the new and old Bosch cramps, the one on the left is the new one, much easier to use for...

Table and fence for Meddings radial arm drill

I found time to get the various bits together at lunchtime so I could build the table this weekend but came up against a couple of minor issues. First the gearbox and drill innards were moving around in the cast head. As half the top of the casting is smashed until I get chance to clean up the...

    The “keeper” router plane WIP

Lovely job, I like that a lot =D> I have been considering buying a router plane but this has made me think again.

Thanks Richard. We are about 50 minutes from Leeds if the M62 is being kind. Cheers Andy

    Elu Radial Arm Saw

Ok Richard. I shall correct that ebay statement, when I search for RAS a listing came up with £205 but when I clicked on the listing the price changed to £138, weird, but still 20 hours to go. No legs, table, Dado blade or posh new blade, and it has a broken handle and missing knob though. The...

    Elu Radial Arm Saw

Two hundred views but no takers, I want to get this shifted quickly so I'll list it on another forum for a couple of days then the bay, There is an inferior DW one on the bay now at £206 with a day to go and the blade alone cost me about 90 quid so I think £220 is fair :) Cheers Andy

Table and fence for Meddings radial arm drill

I bought this drill a while ago but have only just got it up into the workshop from the barn below as it's a bit of a lump and it needed the head off another drill. I need to wire it up to my 3 phase 415v inverter in the next week or so and eventually it will receive a renovation including paint...

Mafell MT55 in the hands of a plunge saw newbie

I've heard about that, but haven't tried it yet. Not a deal breaker for me but I would have thought Mafell would have a response as it must impact their otherwise good name. I have their jigsaw and its the dogs danglies and does what they say.

    Chop saw recommendation?

My thoughts exactly TF :) My RAS is in the for sale section now, it was fine until I started wanting larger capacity. I shall leave it on here for a few days then list it on another forum and eventually the bay. I shall let you know how I go, I ran out of time yesterday but was just hooking it...

    Elu Radial Arm Saw

I have a new larger capacity mitre saw and I can't justify two saws so reluctantly I'm selling this RAS that I bought from another forum member who kept it in tip top condition. I've continued his tenure and kept it well, everything works, nothing is held together with cable ties or duct tape...
