    Victorian stud walls

Having taken down a Victorian stud wall recently, the wood is blackens by the number of iron nails holding the lath strips, so metal detector should find the studs. You might get funny readings because there are diagonal studs through the vertical studs. Of course you want to fix on to the studs...

Planer thicknesser for less than £1,000

While a new machine is attractive, modifications to the other outbuilding will mean I gotta save some money somewhere. I'm guessing no one has much negative to say about a kity 1637? Ive seen a kity 637, but broken guard and didn't look great. It looks like these Kity's are selling in the region...

Planer thicknesser for less than £1,000

Seems there is a consensus on the wheels for heavier machines then. As for Hammer, Look like great machines, Preloved £1,300 - ebay £1,200, too rich for me. I've got to make a space that was supposed to be simply sheltered into internal space now, and take extra damp prevention measures to stop...

Advice on a router table to suit a Trend T11

Lonsdale73, thanks, you got me thinking about that, and positioning for dovetails etc I might need something along those lines, and many other fences don't seem to have such a range of movement in them. I found that Finetools of Germany sell Incra stuff a bit cheaper than UK shops, and still...

Advice on a router table to suit a Trend T11

My first post here, wanted to say thanks because forums have been helpful for months now. I'm building a workshop and getting it kitted out for a few tasks, this is a bit of a leap into more serious DIY for me. Firstly, rebating 100+ year old sash windows to accept double glazing repair and...
