    yes it hums and tries to start. so i took the belt off it then spins freely but can be stopped easily but placing a piece of wood on the pulley. it has no torque. what do you think????? thanks tony

    hi my axminster awvsl 900 lathe has given up .. it appears the motor is at fault and needs replacing. Being only 15 month old and not used a lot, I am not too happy. Guarantee was only a year, apart from axminster at £80 is there anywhere else that supplies motors . thanks tony

    hi this is the 2nd bowl I have ever made, it is made from a piece of wood I found about 10 months ago, think it is birch. I cut it into a rough shape a left I under my bench for 10 months, not sealed in anyway. so it could split. anyway I going to take a chance and finish it. what suggestions...
