    Vertically aligned shelf dividers

Just make sure you get the front-back alignment of the divider accurate or it will show up once you start adding more dividers. Don't rely on the spacer, check visually.

    Vertically aligned shelf dividers

Make a spacer block (for whatever horizontal division you want) space off same side, glue, clamp, move up, repeat. You could use the spacer block to cut biscuits if you want but just glue should work.

Looks interesting. I was fortunate to see the real Segovia in the 80's, a few year before he passed away. He just about managed to make it onto the stage and only played half of what was on the schedule but once he sat down to play his performance was incredible.

OK, here's a theory; there have been a number of weird first postings over the last few weeks - are they being generated as some form of AI testing algorithm? Discuss....

    Drilling with clean exit holes.

I take it you're doing this on the drill press? Fix a clean backer-board down so it doesn't move (glue, double sided tape) and clamp the ply onto it before drilling - the breakout should be reduced if it is in (pressure) contact with the backer. You'll have to come up with your own method of...

    Speed[framing]Square? Catching up.

I too came across a similar video on the use of a framing square a while ago and, like you, can't remember any of it!! Youtube is now becoming a repository for all the information that used to get passed on down the generations - both sad and good in equal measure!

Thanks for the comments on the veneering. With most veneer you can get away with losing 1+ mm and it still looking seamless when you take the veneer around a corner. I cut the veneer where I want the join, glue the first piece in place with a small overhang (<1mm), sand back to the edge when the...

Heating a vacuum press for veneering

Just had a look at underfloor mats on Toolstation website (won't put up link as it will expire at some point!) It says max floor temp: 40 deg C. There are also contact details for advice from the manufacturer on the site also (under Technical Details). The bigger issue will be the insulation...

Heating a vacuum press for veneering

If you like tinkering then, why not have a look at the heating rolls they use under floor tiles? Not sure if they will reach the temperatures you want but it should be possible to make some sort of 'containment' to suit your needs? Also, why not use something like titebond? I have veneered...

Heating a vacuum press for veneering

Why heat to 40-50 deg if you are happy with the result at ambient (~20+deg) and how long is each press cycle? One simple solution might be to wrap it in an electric blanket for the duration of the pressing but would probably need some experimentation??

    Fungus Growth on timber

It looks like something a bee would make? There is a Mud Dauber Wasp that makes tunnels that look similar to this but a quick search online suggests they are not a common species her in the UK?

Ah, I didn't realise the price differential was that high!! Last time I looked at a Hegner I'm sure they were a lot less than that - must be longer than I care to admit :)
