    Vintage Record 4 1/2 planes

Max, the plane arrived yesterday and I am very happy, thankyou. I think the kids were using it to plane rocks ;), but I’ll soon sort that out. Thanks again for doing this.

    Now gone. Thanks Hornbeam.

    Sjobergs-style bench - now gone.

Hi all, I’ve got this small workbench with a tail vice and front vice. Both have acme threads and work smoothly. The top is flat, and it is sturdy for this type of bench, but would benefit from being screwed to the floor, or a piece of MDF/ply. It’s cheap and cheerful, but it will do the job in...

    Leather working tools

Thanks @AES, I’ve heard about that program and will give it a look. Thanks @AndyT, that’s the sort of thing I was looking for. I’ll look him up. @thetyreman The stuff I want to do is too as hoc and I want to develop my skill (which is basically zero) in that area.

    Leather working tools

Afternoon guys. I want to dabble with making some leather sheaths for axes/froes/draw knives etc. I could do with some advice about what tools to buy/avoid please. I don’t want to do anything complicated, but would like functional protection for edges (and my fingers). There are some sets on...

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

Thanks both. That seems like a lot of effort. Surely there should be a function in the forum software to simply rotate the picture? Thinking about it, there is an edit function in the photos app on an iPhone, so if it’s the metadata, perhaps rotating and saving it might work? I’ll try it next time.

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

Thanks Angie, they seem to be. Could I have done that? Adding images is much easier than before, but there needs to be an easy way to manipulate them (unless I’ve missed something).

How many active turners remain in UKWorkshop ?

Yup, I still turn, usually to make a part for something else.

Thanks Angie. Any ideas how to right the images?

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

Thanks Bob, I didn’t realise that. Fortunately, I’ve got great relationships with neighbours on both sides. Andy - an excellent idea!

    Woodworking Mornington Crescent

Personally, on wood that green, I’d have used a slick, but there were some queries raised at the Harrogate departure convention.

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

😳 I’m really sorry about the images, I’ve had a look and can’t see how to change them so far. I’ll keep looking though.

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

I was slightly interrupted by two weeks in beautiful Scotland; Before getting back to it. Walls next; Then floor, which I gave a coat of varnish, after trying, and failing, to get the kids to keep their muddy shoes off my, I mean err, their beautiful new floor; I’ve left the front...

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

Hmmm, I’m not sure how to turn the images the right way up. That’s not how they appear in my phone gallery. Anyway... I used a 15 degree slope at the top of the uprights to take the roof boards and made a support on either side and a double one for the middle; Before adding the roof boards...

‘Daddy, can we have a playhouse please?’

The littlest Noggsy’s are 4 and 6 and asked for a playhouse during lockdown. The brief was; A - it had to be on stilts. B - it had to have a balance beam. After weeks of drawings and ringing round places which were shut, or barely open, I got the wood and began... The uprights are screwed to...
