Thanks guys Am i right in thinking that any attempt to stain the door would just darken the damaged area too? Our floor and worktops are more of a lightish walnut colour so i could get away with staining the door to an extent.

Hi, i have an oak veneer door from B&Q that i got cheap due to it being stained somehow. I innocently assumed i could sand this out not realising how thin the veneer is. Everything i do seems to increase the stain size so i am just wondering if anyone has any tips or if it's a lost cause?
