It’s a bit of a bad pic, I’ll need to hunt out my macro lens but here’s an example of the crystals forming. They don’t tend to form on the surface. Only when you cut a section out or do an inside cut like on the scroll saw. Also, much stronger scent from it when it’s forming crystals.

Oh also it literally just started today gradually from a quiet noise to quite loud. Obviously gets much faster when I run the speed faster.

Ah yeah I’ve got a tailstock. I didn’t think it’d be needed if it’s an expanding ring mandrel & clamped into the Chuck. I’ll give it a try later in the morning & see if that makes a difference. How would I add an earth to the lathe though? Safely I might add.
