    Table saw choices.

Go into a Machinemart and have a look for yourself. I dont think there is any comparison with a TS200. In my experience Clarke tools are cheap but you get what you pay for but at £179 imho it looks expensive compared with the TS200

    Old table saw Wilson

Although Wilson Brothers (Leeds) was in business in 1937 it was incorporated as a limited company in 1960 but was dissolved in 1996 so the reason you can't find anything is because the company no longer exists. Google the name and you will find this from a quiz run by the Woodwork Uk site in...

    New TS200 Mk2

"To answer another question earlier in the thread - the fact the sliding tables aren't discounted, and the fact the same model is listed for both the v1 and v2 saws respectively leads me to believe it's unchanged. That makes some sense - as it looks as though the main tables are exactly the same...

    New TS200 Mk2

Apart from the weight of the thing I don't think you'll have much of a problem mine went together quite easily. I needed some of the shims under the insert to make the surface level but that was the only issue. I now wish I'd bought the sliding table, although I may cobble together a sled

    Table saw choices.

I bought a TS200 from Axi on christmas eve for £170 and the extension table was a freebie.

    New TS200 Mk2

I have just been to Axminster and bought a TS200 for £170 and it came with the extension table and rails foc. Bought the leg stand for £29.94 and so for £200 all in I'm quite happy. I didn't know the extension table was free until I got to the till....I may have to go back for the sliding table...

has anyone got any experience with charnwood w590 PT.

Can't comment on the W590, I bought the much smaller W588. I have a few bits of Charnwood kit which I am very pleased with. I have also found Charnwood a good company to deal with. If you look on the Charnwood web site they seem to fairly active with exhibitions/shows.

Looking for a good(!) yew timber yard Nottinghamshire

I suggest signing up to…. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/ This is an arborist web site. If you post your question on there you may find someone that has some milled timber that meets your needs.

Buying an extractor for Planer/Thicknesser and Bandsaw

Have a look at the Camvac range. I have a twin motor job that I hook up to my lathe/bandsaw/planer/sander and the suction is incredible.

Where to buy planed boards in the UK

It is also worth keeping an eye on Ebay. I have bought some lovely beech, walnut, mahogany and oak at a fraction of the price you would pay at a timber merchant. Even allowing for the odd knot or split you can get very good value for money if pick your lots.

    Bandsaw advice

Have a look at this http://www.charnwood.net/shop/product/c ... saw?cid=52 If you haven't been to the Charnwood shop yet (its not far from Melton) it is worth a visit.

Thicknesser, table saw and biscuit jointer

I have the W730 (the Charnwood 14" bandsaw) with blade from Tuffsaws and imho it is a good piece of kit. It was an ex demo model and was quite a bit cheaper than list…..and it looked as if it hardly been used.

Thicknesser, table saw and biscuit jointer

Planer/thicknesser I have one of these (cost new £289) http://www.charnwood.net/shop/product/c ... x-5?cid=62 (….a bit loud but does the job well. I've just put a pile of mahogany, beech and white oak through mine and got a lovely finish) Table saw cost new £259 (or £319 packaged with...

Cannot align fence, how do you guys do it ?

I know what you mean about Axi's price match policy, I can understand why they may want to adopt that policy but I have bought a lot of stuff from other places because of it. I have just discovered D & M Tools. Great prices and great delivery. Ordered a Trend router 3.00pm on a thursday...

Cannot align fence, how do you guys do it ?

Strange isn't it? I have found Charnwood to be a great supplier. On the rare occasions I have a problem, they have always been great to deal with on the phone with helpful advice. Conversely, I have found the attitude of the people at Axminster to be so p155 poor I will try everyone else before...

    "Vintage" Stanley/Record Number 4 Planes

I could do with a plane and have been toying with the idea of going for a "vintage" Stanley or Record. If anyone else gone down this route I would appreciate any advice or guidance.

    ebay prices for tools

Funny old game innit? I was just thinking that some prices on Fleabay were unrealistically high. I saw someone in the US trying to sell a W5 Woodrat (with some damage) for £390 + £98 carriage when the latest W600 lists at £375 (inc vat). A few weeks ago, I was tracking an old Leigh jig which...
