    Woodworking in limited spaces.

Welcome to the forum. It would help to know what sort of projects you have planned so members could advise better. Cheers, Pete

Do you take care over the invisible bits?

I think it's all about what makes you feel good. Other than time and effort I believe there's a lot of satisfaction in knowing you've put your best into every aspect of a project. As to maybe wasting good material, think veneering where it's advisable to veneer both surfaces even if only one is...

    Another Joke

Scene: The billiard room in the Officer's Mess of a remote African station in the days of Empire. The Colonel is playing billiards with his aide-de-camp. ADC: "Have you heard about young Farquaharson?" Col. (eyeing up a pot) "Farquaharson? Farquaharson? Ah! You mean young Freddie...

    Trump and bleach

The problem is that, having been instrumental in driving globalization and the inter-dependency of nations, the US can't now simply turn is back and say, "We don't care what you think." If it weren't for that and the nuclear arms question, I doubt that the rest of the world would give a damn...

    Book recommendations?

Not as highbrow as the previous two but a good read, especially if you're ex-mob, is 'Air Force Blue' by Patrick Bishop. A history of the RAF from its birth in 1918 through to the end of WW2 with lots of personal recollections and an insight into its main characters. Pete

How much will this cost me

Kind of on the subject of the economy. It seems to me that this pandemic has allowed people and governments to re-evaluate what is important to them. The impression I get from the posts which have gone before is a belief that everyone is striving to return to the way things were before this...

    Another Joke

Two Aussies decide to break lock-down and go for a walk. They haven't gone a couple of k's when one of them collapses and his mate rings the emergency services. Dispatcher: "Where are you, sir?" Aussie: "We're in Eucalyptus Street." D: "Sorry sir, this is a bad line. Could you spell that for me...

    W.I.P. Plane Till

I think I should have posted this under 'Projects'. Perhaps one of the Mods could move this for me? Cheers, Pete

    W.I.P. Plane Till

This is more of an experiment to see if I can upload photos. It's a typical 'lock-down' project. One of those things I should have done ages ago but other things got in the way. Scratching around for something to use a batch of magnolia I've had for about 5 years (should be nice and stable now)...

    G'day from NZ

Hi to all from a new member located in NZ. I hope this is the correct area to post an introduction. I'm a recently retired engineer and have been a hobby woodworker for about 20 years but now (particularly with the current lock-down) I can spend all my spare time in the shed. Originally from...
