    First Bandsaw Buying Advice

No maintenance tips really other than hoovering out the dust accumulation under the table, even though I use dust extraction. Steve Maskery has some useful tips on dust extraction for bandsaws. Other than that don't expect to feed 150mm timber through at the same rate as 50mm wood. As another...

    First Bandsaw Buying Advice

As far as after sales service I have found RP staff to be helpful and they seem to keep spares for older models. I have had a BS300 for 16 years and had no problems when I needed to replace the tyres on the band wheels and the motor drive belt. I would endorse the advice about having the...

    Crown tools?

I recently purchased an iGaging combination square and on the end of the very nice storage box was a sticker: WARNING Cancer and Reproductive Harm. Is it the box or the square that I should worry about - or neither as I am over 80! I believe iGaging is California based.

    underfloor heating under rubber matting

If you go for rubber matting don't make the same mistake as I did. I purchased fine ribbed rubber flooring (like corduroy) and it is a pain to sweep up after wood turning.. You can only effectively sweep along the grooves and really need to use a hoover to get the shop clean.

    Band saw cutting issues

When bolting the table to the mounting there is a small amount of movement before you tighten the bolts fully. You may be able to compensate for the straightness of the cut by 'squaring' the table to the blade.
