    Compressor/ Makita 18g Nailer

Agree with you HOJ, however the point i was making is that if I used a longer nail, say 40 or 50mm, it wouldn’t even go flush with the surface. You’re correct, I did mean the depth adjuster screw.

Just taken a few pictures with the pressure shown, looks around the 8 bar.

    Compressor/ Makita 18g Nailer

Hi, Just bought a second hand compressor, its a 6 bar pressure, and bought a new Makita AF506 nailer to go with it, however I’m just slightly, and I mean just slightly, unimpressed by them. Just practiced on some 38mm CLS with some 32mm brads and they literally just go under the surface, that...

    Cyclone Bucket.

Hi, can anyone recommend a decent bucket or drum collecotor for my cyclone please? Ive had the Oneida Dust Deputy for years now however I have upgraded my vacuum to a Numatic NV750 and while using it yesterday it collapsed the lid. I’m after something of similar size of bucket/ drum that came...

    Festool TS55 “F” Tracksaw.

Thanks for the info guys, and that’s settled me a bit as researching the noise issue it makes is quite a common issue as Doug stated.

    Festool TS55 “F” Tracksaw.

I wonder if anyone could advise on this please. I purchased this model second hand a few days ago but just had a look at it today and it seems to be running off slightly. First thing I found is that the incorrect blade is fitted as with this newer F series the kerf should be the same thickness...

    Replacement Roof for garage cost?

I replaced my garage roof last year which is a similar size to yours and was considering boarding and covering with EPDM, however not just due to cost but the easier option I used 0.7mm plasticote roofing sheets and really pleased I did, they’ve been excellent and easy to fit. If you go this...

    Mitre Gauge

Hi, I bought the Rutland premium mitre gauge when it was on offer and just got around to trying it and had mixed results. Works great with my Dewalt 745 however it’s useless with my Trend router table as it basically won’t slide as the plastic/rubber washers which are used to tighten then...

    Any Ideas?

Last year I reroofed my garage in some 1000/32 plasticoat roofing sheets which came in some other protected sheets with a few slight imperfections and far too good to throw out, the quality is still good and there are a few different colours in the coatings. The lengths vary between 2 metres...

Makita DRT 50 Cordless Palm Router

Thanks for the replies lads, and also the Blutak tip, I might make a mini table to fit the Katsu into.

Makita DRT 50 Cordless Palm Router

Hi, I’m thinking of going for this router as I have the Katsu however the speed dial is starting to turn when running therefore you can’t run it at a constant steady speed, aswell as the cordless feature being appealing with the Makita. Main question I’d like to ask is, would the Katsu plunge...

    Pillar drill recommendations

Another vote for the Bosch PBD40. Small footprint, light, and ease of use, also the LCD for the drilling depth is a handy feature.

    Infared heater in garage.

Morning, With the colder months on the way I’m looking to add a bit of heat into my garage workshop and wondered if it was safe to use an electric infared patio heater? I was thinking of either mounting one to the wall or making some sort of portable stand. Would it be safe to use in this...

    Temporary flooring....

Hi, I know Wickes stock like a plastic 8 x 4 sheets which I think are predominately used to cover flooring while decorating, and unlike sheets there would be no tripping hazard. They weigh absolutely nothing and think you could probably fold them in half if needed to help with storage...

    Cutting 50 degree angle.

All good ideas, I’ve got all weekend to mull over them and decide what to do, must admit the wedge idea seems the simplest way so far and thanks again for your thoughts and ideas, it’s appreciated.

    Cutting 50 degree angle.

Hi, I’ve a garden gate to make and went to fit the posts today and have a slight problem. Theres the house wall where I’m going hinge it to and it swings to meet a garden wall, however to square up the 2 posts for closing the angle is 50 degrees as it meets the house wall at this different...

I intend to purchase some new floorboards, would that make any difference to the stability?

    Garden Gate.

Morning, Could I ask please whether I could make a garden side gate with 18mm floorboards with 3 or 4 inch bracing to the back? Main reason for asking is the possible movement and twisting issues however I would intend giving it several coats of whatever needed to protect it. Any advice or...
