    How was this joint cut?

If the lower rail were two tenons split vertically coming into the the mortise from either side and each tenon was notched to accept the top rail it could physically lock the tenons into place. I am a veritable newbie so I may have overlooked some fundamental flaw here

    Preston 2500p - now sold

I was lucky enough to buy it in this condition, i've given it the odd rub with wire wool here and there and kept it oiled. I'm in two minds about selling it to be honest, its only going to go up in value and it really is beautiful.

    POSTING PICTURES

I don't mean to hijack the thread but figured id ask here instead of creating a new post just for a simple yes or no, Do the file size restrictions apply to photos hosted on 3rd party sites such as flickr or it just for the in house photo uploader? Thanks, Sam

    Best Makita 18v tools

From what I've seen Makita seem to have a select few tools that are made in japan whilst the majority are made in china. They make some really great tools and some trashy models to fill out their lines. The bhp 458 is an excellent drill imo, although it is quite heavy, twice the weight of my...

    Practical tips for beginners.

Some great advice here, I rarely contribute, but being a beginner who has recently learnt to cut straight and true (most of the time 8-[ ) I thought I'd offer some advise that helped me. Stop and look at where your cuts go wrong, understanding why you saw goes off course will help you counter...

Best Value for Money multi-tool blades?

Forum newbie here! Personally I go with the 15 for £20 flea-bay blades. I have Fein blades and have used Bosch, they are better quality blades for sure. However, this being said I tend to use my multi tool in old timber with high risk of nails or bursting through into masonry. I prefer...
