    PILLAR DRILL ADVICE

    Well as I say I am only a basic woodworker but enjoy pottering about in the garage which I have converted into a bit of a workshop. The max depth I would want to drill would be no more than 3" but the ease, speed and accuracy appeals to me as opposed to using my hand drill all the time...

    My new very old Record vice is now fitted to my work bench but I need to fit some wood over the jaws. Why does everybody seem to fit hard wood? Surely soft wood is better so as not to damage any work held between the jaws.
