Anyone bought one of these router track rail adapters?

Sorry, can't help with that one - I use the Festool one though. Works well.

    Starter chisel set

I bought a set of Narex, they were alright but the handles were a bit light and cheap looking. I also spent ages looking for vintage ones on ebay but that was a bit hit and miss. So i went with getting 3 Ashley Iles chisel form Workshop Heaven in the most useful sizes. Over the years I've added...

Your experience with either the Triton MOF001 or TRA001 router?

I have my TRA in a table. Build quality is a bit plasticky and I wouldn't have bought it for my main plunge router. Have Bosch and Festool for that. I only bought it as at the time it was the only option i could find that allowed height adjustment and bit change from above the table -and for...

Bench Grinders - best of both worlds?

I just posted in the similar thread above yours. If you get a grinder, definitely consider CBN wheels. They are great.

    Grinder advice

Would have loved a Creusen but couldn't afford it and went with the Record RSBG6 6". Initially used it with the white wheel it came with and a wire wheel and it vibrated really badly. The white wheel was hard to balance. (Record say not to use a wire wheel). Power switch had to be replaced after...

Advice needed on router table dust extraction

But that doesn't work doing Dados does it?. I'm intrigued by the cleansweep after watching their video. Of course they may well have had it hooked up to a stupidly powerful extractor!

Advice needed on router table dust extraction

Hi Doug, Which extractors are you using and did you make a diy enclosure box or buy one? Thanks Dave

Advice needed on router table dust extraction

I get a bit confused about this. Routers tend to produce small chips and fine dust so what type of extractor do i need? HVLP or LVHP? At the moment I just have a Festool CTL26 and CTL MIDI. Are these up to the job or do i need a 100mm hose jobbie? I have a small, already fairly full, workshop...

Which grinder & polisher for sharpening and polishing parts.

I know!! If you look at some of the Axminster Trade ones they also say not suitable for use with a wire wheel. I wonder why? Anyway, fitted the switch and swapped out the white wheel for a CBN from Toolpost and put a coarse ruby, also from Toolpost, on the left side. The grinder now runs much...

Which grinder & polisher for sharpening and polishing parts.

So Record have got back to me suggesting that the switch has failed. I must have used the thing about 3 or 4 times a month for 2 years. They're also saying that because i have a wire wheel on my machine I have voided my warranty, what a joke! Good to know Record stand by the quality their...

Which grinder & polisher for sharpening and polishing parts.

Just an update in case anyone ever reads this whilst looking for a bench grinder. After 2 years, and only very occasional light use, the Record has packed up. It spins up and then cuts out. I was using it last night to put a primary bevel on a plane iron so not exactly hard usage. It always ran...

Advice on separate planer and thicknesser or combo machine?

That all makes sense. I guess if i had more room and there was a wider planer available then separates would be simpler. @Marcros which combi did you get and what do you think of it? @mbartlett99 That iTech looks nice, and i like that the beds lift up together. Do you think that would be a...

Advice on separate planer and thicknesser or combo machine?

Hello, I'm trying to decide between a separate surface planer like the Axminster AT150SP 150mm and a lunchbox thicknesser like the dewalt dw733 or even the Axi AT330ST with the spiral cutter at £1000. Or even the floorstanding AT310T but that's £1500! Or a combi machine - had a quote from...

Looking for first bandsaw in £1500-£2000 range

As you say, bandsaws are simple machines but i'll be wanting to do some deep resawing and processing of logs, so from what I've read I'll want something with a stiff frame that can properly tension a wider blade of an inch or so. I don't want anything fancy but want something really well built...

Looking for first bandsaw in £1500-£2000 range

Does anyone have any experience with the Axminster Trade AT3086B (£1900) or the AT3352B (£2160)? I think the AT3086B used to be called the SBW-3501H3 but not sure about the more expensive T3352B.

Looking for first bandsaw in £1500-£2000 range

That's just mean teasing me with photos of that!! Thanks so much Tom, that was great advice, I'll be sure to come back and read then when i finally get there. Almost makes me think i could manage the the SP500 or SO400 at S&S! I'm definitely thinking that a good used hand model from someone...

Looking for first bandsaw in £1500-£2000 range

I'm still trying to decide, and the Hammer N4400 that i really liked was out of my budget. I'm not sure which one you mean when you say the Harvey bandsaw? The problem is i don't have anyway of collecting and i'd struglle to get one in to my workshop on my own. Thanks I'll check them out...

Looking for first bandsaw in £1500-£2000 range

I have to say that the Hammer N4400 looks perfect but I think it'll be out of my budget. but I'll get in touch with them. S+S have suggested the Startrite 403. Thanks for all the comments so far. Are there any other specific models I should consider?

I did see that and have contacted them but I have no idea if they are well thought of, other than how expensive they are new!

Looking for first bandsaw in £1500-£2000 range

Thanks. Do you have any insight as to how the quality of their bandsaws compares to others? You bring up one other desire there, a small footprint as I have a small workshop and something mobile that I cut move easily would be great.
