    Hi thanks for the reply. I did grease the shafts but not with PTFE which I have never used, will have to get some. Would be nice t have a chat with someone used to this lathe, but will hold myself to one question. Compared to the other 2 lathes I have used, which both work on the multiple pulley...

    Thanks to those who replied. From Sealey, the belt required was a M22 v belt, 560 mm inside length. 10 mm wide, 6 mm deep. It cost me £21 BUT it looks like the same size can be obtained from bearingboys in norwich Z22 V Belt (Dunlop Premium) for around £3 plus postage. Not sure if the quality...

    Richard thanks for quick reply. The two pulleys are variable diameter, and i THINK that 1 cm wrong belt length would stop me accessing the lowest or highest gears. Also, if the belt were a bit wider, it would have to be a bit longer, so I am wary of trying to measure, but pleased that people are...
