Combi boiler - removing and capping radiators?

Hi Any plumbers on here? I recently moved in to a new place with a combi boiler. I'm decorating, which will entail removing radiators in order to decorate behind them. Someone has suggested that I can remove one or 2 rads, and temporarily cap off the pipes, which will enable me to...

I bet there wasn't any health warnings on that packet! The woodbines, I mean. Not the mummified cat...

    Prepping old walls for paint

Hi I have stripped off the wallpaper, and the walls (plastered in December '81 according to the pencilled signature!) are in rather good nick, so I want to paint straight on to them, instead of lining. What is the best prep for getting off the old paste residue etc? Sugar soap? A light...

    Bathroom extractor fans.

What about fitting a vent in the door? There must be a way to do it prettily/tidily? I mean in order to improve airflow, so the fan can work better (not fitting the extractor fan in the door)

Hinges for recessed doors on a dresser/cabinet

Thanks. I meant to say that sketch isn't in any way to scale - it just seemed simpler to quickly draw it than trying to describe it, but all are valid points. Thanks all.

Hinges for recessed doors on a dresser/cabinet

The reason is... 'cos I want to. It may not be a compelling reason, but I have a history of making things far harder than they need/should be. I shall find a way! Ta.

Hinges for recessed doors on a dresser/cabinet

Hi I suspect I'm overlooking something obvious in my searching, but I want to build a cabinet similar to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193167195495 ... 3167195495 BUT I want to set the doors back so they aren't flush with the face of the unit. What sort of hinges can I use so that the...

    Reducing spiciness?

I made a big batch of kung po chicken, following a new (to me) recipe. It's yum... until the heat of the chilli kicks in... Next time I'll dial down the chilli, but does anyone have any tips for taking the heat out of this batch?

    Hardwearing Jeans.

I don't know if you can get them over here but Wrangler western jeans are VERY good quality denim, and have a high waist (as they're meant for people sat on horses). I order them from the US which, with import tax and freight, makes it expensive, but I'm a 38 leg, so it's worth my while as the...

    Christmas craft fair ideas?

I saw some mini birdboxes for sale once, as christmas tree decorations (i.e. waaaaaay too small to be of actual use). Been meaning to make some for myself, but still haven;t got round to it... It took a bit of time, so might mean it's not worth it in terms of cost to make vs. what someone would...

    Bench top planer recommendations?

I can't comment on bench top thicknessers as I have never had one. However, if the OP is after a planer (jointer), then I used to have a little 6" Axminster jointer/planer that was a lovely little machine. I have since sold and upgraded to a bigger machine, but it did everything I asked from...
