    Finishing sanders

The Mirka Deros is a popular high end tool, but does have mixed reviews. There’s a copy version in existence too. This video may interest you:

    Router table insert

What’s the general consensus on aluminium vs phenolic plates? Phenolic are much more affordable. Looking for one for my Triton MOF

    My homemade router table

Hi, this thread is really useful as I’m embarking on building a table to mount my Triton MOF. Quick question, I was planning on laminating two 18mm MRMDF pieces together for the top. I’m struggling to find a suitable ‘melamine’ or ‘phenolic laminate’ material to then fit onto these, providing...

    Screwfix vouchers

I didn't realise they did any other type of trade account? Couldn't see anything on their website other than the credit one? Can you only sign up in store? What did you need to show to open one please?

Was it the trade credit account you opened up?

    Mafell Tools

I bought the Mafell track saw at the beginning of the year as an upgrade from an Erbauer...absolutely love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Yes, expensive, but worth it IMO. The rails provided are 2 x 1.6m as opposed to 1.4m and the way they join together is superior to the Festool...

Protecting MDF top from wood glue

Thank you all for the replies. I meant cam clamps that exert horizontal pressure, like the second photo on the post above. I think I may actually have some DPM spare in the garage, and never thought to use that. Thank you!

Protecting MDF top from wood glue

What would you suggest I use to protect my MFT MDF workbench top from wood glue? For example, if I want to assemble glue ups on the bench using a cam clamp, I want to avoid the pieces sticking to the workbench top whilst drying? I'm assuming something like an MDF sealer? Would this work? Or...

    What are my clamping options...

I'm looking for some advice on clamping options on my workbench. Whilst making the face frame for a radiator cover, I went to glue up the panels using biscuits, and found the overall width was longer than the two sash clamps I have, at 1200mm wide. My bench has dog holes, so I was wondering...

    MFT Table Best Accessories

Second the comments here about Benchdogs. I’ve got their 1200mm fence kit along with the right hand fence too. It’s now a breeze to cut up sheet material accurately and repeatedly. I love it. The rail dogs are really good too.

Where to source hardwood in norfolk?

Not used it myself, but apparently this place is pretty good. They have separate ‘standard’ and ‘hardwood’ timber yards I’m led to believe. A&W Cushion | Timber Merchants in Norwich & Great Yarmouth

    Ply as MFT top?

Thanks for the replies, I think I’ll save it for garage cabinets and get a sheet of MDF instead

    Ply as MFT top?

Do you think an 18mm sheet of hardwood ply would be a suitable top for a custom MFT table? I know some CNC companies can supply an MFT top in birch ply, but the sheet I have isn’t birch. Just standard B&Q ply. Think it’ll hold up?

    Rutlands tools

I completely agree with that review, and I love my woodpeckers square and woodpeckers woodworking rule with hook end. Awesome bits of kit that I cherish. But sadly I cannot justify buying all my tools from them, and so I supplement with the occasional Banggood version. The ones I have aren’t...

    Rutlands tools

My quick clamps arrived today and whilst I don’t have any others to compare them too, these seem of good quality. The handle and the ‘ratchet’ (inc the black part) are all metal construction, seemingly strong and robust. For £15 each delivered, I’m pleased.

    Track Saw

The Mafell arrived today, and although I’ve not cut with it yet, first impressions are wow. Very obviously in another league to the Erbauer. Build quality, depth adjustment the first two huge positive differences, and the rails...very nice. They go together lovely, feel straight and secure, much...

    Track Saw

I've decided to go for the Mafell, just purchased and waiting on delivery in a few days. I'll let you know my thoughts, and as I've mentioned above, I have the cheaper Erbauer to compare with. For me the positive reviews and YouTube videos from the likes to Robin Clevett, and the apparently...

    Track Saw

Reading this thread with interest... I’d all but decided that I was going to replace my Erbauer track saw for a Festool, but I’m now starting to question whether I should opt for the Mafell or Bosch instead... I’ve used the Erbauer for about 3yrs and it’s served me well but it’s now cutting off...

    Rutlands tools

I picked this up and it arrived a couple of days ago. T Square Obviously a copy of the Woodpeckers version, but less than a 1/6th of the price and I’m very happy with it. Paid £30 for the 400mm version, and putting it against my woodpeckers square it’s bang on 👍🏼 Drillpro is putting out more...
