How to cut an inner radius

The customer sent me measurements of the existing one and the cut outs are 45mm deep, so I’ll need a radius of 40-45mm. The image I shared is drawn to scale in SketchUp, with the dimensions of the other components given by them and those radius are 40mm. I’m thinking an 86mm hole saw to make a...

How to cut an inner radius

I would normally too, however I’ve been asked to replicate an existing piece with one exactly the same. The existing has the radius as a design feature so I have to add them. The cut outs at the top and bottom have the radius too, I’ve just not drawn them in.

Bloody hell. Of course!! Thank you. I knew there was a reason I posted on here

How to cut an inner radius

After a bit of advice please. I've been asked to make one of these, which is simple enough, but I was wondering how you guys would go about cutting the inner radius on the panels? They're 40mm radius. My initial thought was to make a template and then use this with a flush trim bit on the...

You've got £600 for a new mitre saw...

In the brief time I used the Kapex 60, before I boxed it back up again for it to be exchanged, I’m happy with my decision. Definitely feels like a quality piece of kit, and aside from the base being uneven, it was very accurate. I was apprehensive about the vertical handle with all the...

Festool Kapex mitre saw not flat

Festool UK said they’d take it in for a repair or I could get it swapped by the retailer. Retailer was perfectly happy to exchange it, so exchange being arranged. Fingers crossed the next one is all good.

Festool Kapex mitre saw not flat

I’ve taken delivery of a brand new Festool KS60 e set, and when sitting a straight edge across the base of the saw (where your stock sits) it rocks slightly. The left hand side isn’t level with the centre rotating section, with the left side being slightly lower. We’re talking a very small gap...

You've got £600 for a new mitre saw...

As a brief update, after many hours spent watching videos and reading reviews I decided I would go with the Festool. Toucan Tools had a decent offer on it, but it went out of stock whilst I was procrastinating. So I ended up getting the E-Set version as I wanted the LED light anyway, and it...

Advice - Bosch or Mafell plunge saw?

I bought the Mafell MT55 with double rail kit in January and I’ve been using it as my exclusive cutting saw ever since. I think it’s amazing and I’d be lost without it. Like you I started with the Erbauer and went through 3 of them before finally giving up. The first time I used the Mafell I...

You've got £600 for a new mitre saw...

The 15% off has a £60 limit. For some reason FFX have more than one advert. One is priced at £655 the other £640 (adverts appear identical otherwise) so that brings it down to £580 all in with the £60 off 😬 I’m really tempted to hit ‘buy’ but I’m being indecisive. I think I’ve narrowed it down...

    SCCM - Makita LS1019 or Bosch GCM350-254

How are you getting on with the Bosch mate? I'm considering the LS1019L, but the larger capacity and lower price of the Bosch is inviting. How was accuracy out the box? Dust collection? Any issues with it?

You've got £600 for a new mitre saw...

Thank you, some really helpful replies. I've released the £620 Kapex is saw only, so wouldn't come with the fancy bevel guide etc, and adding on the LED takes it up nearer the £700 mark... With my Wickes trade discount I can get the Makita LS1019 for £513 delivered which is an attractive...

You've got £600 for a new mitre saw...

My old Evolution mitre saw is vibrating so bad at a bevel that cutting mitred skirting is impossible. So it's time for a replacement. I want to get the best I can afford, and it appears at the £600 mark its either of these. Which would you buy and why? Or would it be something else? Accuracy is...

    Router bits

Wealdon are out of stock of a couple of bits I’m after, and state there’ll be no stock for months. Any other supplier recommendations? I’ll take a look at Titman, but in case there’s another quality supplier I’m not aware of.

    Air filter

I don't heat the double garage I work in, and so this may actually be a suitable alternative option for me as I've not got heated air I need to retain inside. I mostly work with MDF, and despite having a dust extractor and wearing a mask I'd like to have cleaner air inside my workshop. Plus the...

Anyone have any experience of this air filter from Axminster? Either good or bad? Axminster Craft AC15AFS Air Filter EDIT: Just realised there's an almost exact thread from a few days ago...that'll teach me to write the post on my phone having not had a reading session for a few days...

    Bosch Rail Router Adapter

Does anyone know the configuration of the base of the Triton MOF001 router, or can advise if it’ll fit on the Bosch rail adapter please? Hoping to get one to go with my Mafell rail, but the Triton isn’t listed on the FFX website. Not sure if the Triton shares a hole layout with any of the...

    electric scooters

If you take the letter of the law, in order to legally use these scooters on the public road you need to be over 16, have a driving licence and insurance! They are technically a ‘motor vehicle’ and as such require the appropriate documentation. The scooter hire companies are doing it correctly...

    Finishing sanders

You're welcome. Peter Millard (a member on here) has a couple of videos on the topic too if you have a look through his 10 minute workshop channel. I'm in a similar boat and want to upgrade a 20+ year old Bosch ROS, and am tempted by the Hyvst. As Peter points out in his videos, the only real...
