The series 1 3.8 was beautiful as was the series 2 but the V12 2+2 was odd-looking with such an upright windscreen……and the steel wheels were a poor replacement for the wire wheels. My brother in law rebuilt a primrose yellow series 2 with a 4.2 straight six. Perfect

Paint or etching primer won’t stop ck to galvanised metal. You need to apply T-Wash first then rinse it off with water. Once it’s gone black completely then you can paint it. Don’t use etching primer.

I ordered a watch strap from Jura having already phoned to make sure they has one in stock. ‘Plenty’ came the reply. 10 days later they were still awaiting delivery from their supplier ( where the ‘plenty’ stock was held! Very misleading). Took five weeks.

For external woodwork I always use Superdec from Sadolin. Sand and prepare well but nomprimer or undercoat needed. It’s all satin although white and black is also available in gloss (gloss black seems to last forever!)...
