    Edge sanding MDF

I was told if you use a 1500+ grit in a ROS, It melts the glue in the mdf edge with the surface heat and almost polishes it without sanding.... however only use this technique with a/c paints as waterbased will not stick to the glue.... they need a mechanical adhesion.

    Flag MDF Primer

Ive seen metal stordage drums corroded from the inside before. They were 45 gallon oil drums on a farm, where the farmer had stored all the waste oil from all the equipment etc. After many years there were lots of these drums, and now waste oil is actually worth a few pence a litre he decided...

    Weatherproofing weatherproofing!!

The top may be running back and capillary'ing onto the top sash, sand the back edg of the head rebate off, so it bevels to the outside on the underside, so it drips off before the sash. should stop it.

    Weatherproofing weatherproofing!!

Put some sealant in the groove at the bottom last 2 inches (where the weather will be) and squeeze the strip into it. that will seal it enough. Something like THE WORKS sealant, or any ms polymer. water shouldnt get to it anywhere other than the lower sections.

    door bottom rubber strip

Id just use the mwk kit, ditch the cill piece and cut the weather bar section off the door part and just use the piece underneath the door, so it wipes against the cill.

Advice needed re getting architraving cut to match

Pop a picture up of the architrave, im sure someone will have made something similar! If its a 'big' cut and quite elaborate, a set of cutters for my 100mm profile block is around £100 iirc. Then obviously cost to Par and mould. Ususally charge 1.50p/m for PAR and a single moulding pass.30p...

Sovereign silacry is an exterior overpaintable caulk but takes ages to dry. The ultimate is a joint sealer from sikens/teknos etc called v groove sealer. Local decorating centre 'may' have this if they sell sikkens products! Its on another level for sealing and painting over.
