I have this problem in my garage. i just leave a low watt light bulb running. I think it is 7watt. Never had any problems since. Plus it gives a nice glow when you open the box.

What sort of planer/spindle are you using as this may not have a long enough arm to do the job if its a combi? If they are seperates moving a power feed is quite heavy work and may not be something you would want to do regularly. I suppose it also depends on the level of work you want to get...

Nope, I am dense its official! still don't get what the plastic bit does? Is it a like a jig strip to screw into. That would have been handy as i just made some jigs to fit in the slot and would have saved me some hassle. Owen

Its £5.99 you could buy a new one every year for the next 10 years and it would still be cheap. I can't say I am too fussed if it warps a little bit as I am using mine as a rough and ready plane and saving my others for finer purposes. Cracking buy from the ALDI purchasers in my view. Owen

I don't think I can bounce my item again due to the forum rules but in the interest of not seeing stuff go to waste. The vice is now free but the recipiant must collect or I can pop it in a box for collection but I will not be able do this for a week or so if you want to have it collected. Owen
