    Clear out, part one

I am having a clear out of all the various 'stuff' I seem to have accumulated over the past few years & that I am unlikely to ever use. I could use the space & the cash. Table Saw Advice

Steve, If you have the time to wait then you can get some great bargains on Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Gumtree etc. I have a 50's/60's tilting table Startrite that I won on Ebay a year or so ago that cost me 56 quid. It's a great little saw which does everything I've ever asked of it. Some...

    My Journey into Woodworking....

Looks like a you're doing pretty well, I particularly like the feature wall! Your post struck a real chord with me because I'm pretty much doing the same as you: Teaching myself as I go, using YouTube & various forums. One of the great positives about the internet is that there is virtually...

    Chip and Dust Extraction

I believe there is some daft EU rule that says the inlet has to be blocked enough to prevent you putting your hands into the impellor (difficult to do when the pipe is attached). The main effect of the safety measure is that it quickly blocks up with chips - I cut it out of mine & it doesn't...

Mafell MT55 in the hands of a plunge saw newbie

I have had my MT55 for a couple of years now. It's pretty much my go to saw for 90% of what I do. I am just finishing building my work bench, which is designed to use the MFT style hole system; most cuts, such as mitres come out perfectly straight off the saw. Love mine to bits!

Planer thicknesser .... which one which brand.

I have a Sedgwick PT260. I wouldn't swap it for anything else. The older (green) ones come up from time to time on eBay, Gumtree etc & are worth waiting for.

Elu routers - still a good buy, even now?

I have a fair collection of Elu Routers. Like others I buy them at the right price & only if they've been lightly used. Well used routers this age are a nightmare waiting to happen. Just for interest my experiences are: MOF 177. Great router! Got more user friendly as they went on (easier to...
