    Mini Cordless Chainsaw...any good?

Ah, the dreaded s word crops up at last. These are absolutely wonderful for sharpening a chainsaw: https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00CIRQW0K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Mini Cordless Chainsaw...any good?

Also investigate battery adapters. I've now got adapters to use my DeWalt 18v batteries on both my Worx and Ryobi tools. In my experience, third party DeWalt batteries are better (and more available) than those for other brands. A long way round to say that my little Worx saw works brilliantly...

Energy bills dated end of December 2022

Here in France near Toulouse, 40€/week for wood, 170€/month for electricity. No gas.

Energy bills dated end of December 2022

I was at university in London during the seventies, and for two years lived in a tenement block that had been condemned some decades earlier. The GLC had lent them to a few universities prior to demolition. Heating was electric fires, one bar and I can remember several nights when the water...

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

So exactly what's shown on the box beside the "R" clip? Just under where it says clevis pin?

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

Time for a slice of humble pie. I just went out to my very cold workshop and had a rummage for the box to prove my assertion. And here it is: I was wrong. My memory is not what it used to be, and it didn't used to be that good anyway. Sorry all!

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

Don't think I related the pin I showed to the original post which I'm perfectly ok with calling a roll pin. Just adding my contribution to the discussion of what constitutes a cotter pin.

What are these metal pins called (Dissasembling my Kity 636 for restoration)

I have always considered this a cotter pin, sometimes with more than one through hole. Used on performance car bonnets instead of the old style straps I have a box of different sized ones out in the workshop.

    Feeling old

My bike is 250kg and it's getting really hard to lift it up on the rare occasion that I drop it - usually when the side stand doesn't go down properly. My hip is a bit painful for the first 5 minutes of riding, but after that it's ok.

    Feeling old

We use about 1/2 m3 per week for a 25Kw fire with a back boiler that feeds 8 radiators from an 800 litre tank and when it really warms up bleeds off a pumped feed to the solar powered water system. That's running the fire from about 9am to about 6pm at "tickover" and then ramping it up until...

    Feeling old

I'm in France, so prices won't relate to the UK. I paid 78€/cubic metre (a stere), cut to 50cm and split, although some logs had to be split a bit more with my 7 tonne log splitter. It's 2 year old oak, so not quite perfect for wood burners, but anything older is really hard to find and we...

    Wago Lighting Connectors

There are several types and configurations of copy Wacos on the market-fairly obviously from China. They are all in one connectors for 3 core mains cable and, I'm guessing, not legal for use in the UK, Some YouTubers have tested them at up to 4000 volts before they gave up and melted.

Physically I'm 69 but mentally still early 20s. That gets interesting at times. Today I have 6 meter³ of firewood being delivered and have to move and stack it in the woodshed. I can still do that without too many breaks to recover 🌝

Bosch gmc 12 glide mitre saw problem

I've been offered one of these (free) to replace my Evolution mitre saw, but the current owner (my nephew) says that it is very inaccurate. Reviews on the internet vary tremendously but there are several that comment on the constant need for readjustment and lack of repeatabilty. Could any users...

    Domestic Generator

I've also got a normal ups on the incoming fibre box, which will keep the internet going for a little while. Also on the main pc and the tv/sat box, but they don't last long - mainly there for surge protection.
