    TV licence requirements

Whilst technically true it's not the sort of paywall Amazon or Netflix use is it? Internet/streaming services seems to be easier to put behind such a wall but 'free to air' is I would suggest, almost impossible to control without additional hardware (if it becomes encrypted then there has to be...

    TV licence requirements

The BBC is unfortunately in the position as being seen by many as an 'exemplar' public sector employer and therefore has to be seen to jump through every pink and fluffy hoop known to man (and a few more that aren't). There's always going to be people who don't like the output (picking on...

    TV licence requirements

Most definitely criminal not civil. There may well be less enforcement now but that doesn’t alter that fact.

    TV licence requirements

Both of course valid opinions. I don’t object to paying the licence, - I suppose I’ve just got used to it over the years. Those darling tories seem to have the knife out for the Beeb and I think it highly unlikely it will survive in the medium term (who will pay the licence fee if they stop...

The Ups and Downs ...mainly Downs..of selling a flat.

Don’t worry Sam, - I suspect T-N’s somewhat remote grasp on reality has slipped (again).

    JSP PowerCap

But it doesn’t just stop 50% of the dust. Where are you getting that figure from? The difference between an apf of 10 and 20? It is not a straightforward linear comparison. In the correctly matched situation it will reduce dust exposure to below the workplace exposure limit. I know you have a...

    JSP PowerCap

It's not quite as straightforward as that Bob. Whilst on the face of it it's a lower level it does relate to the exposure limit in the workplace so the factor 10 may well be perfectly 'safe' without having to spend the extra on higher levels of 'protection'. Sometimes the workplace calculations...

HSE: Fatalities in the workplace on the rise

So you’re absolving absolutely everyone else in the design and construction process to lay the blame at the HSE’s door? You know better than that Jim.

Combi boiler - removing and capping radiators?

Chris, - we’ve had magna cleans on our last two systems and they certainly do a good job of collecting crap in the system. The people who do the servicing make a simple point, - the crap on the probe is crap not circulating through your boiler/heating system so it’s more effective. Does it...

    Axminster AC216TS table saw nightmare..

Oh if only that were true! I had to send back my KS60 because it wouldn't cut accurately at 90 degrees and there's no user adjustment. It came back and still wasn't square (how square do you want it to be? asks salesman, - at this price I want it spot on!). I currently don't have a mitre saw.

    Lifting castors

I've got a set of these fitted to my bench: https://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-w ... ors-507151 Have to say they make it incredibly easy to move the bench around what can sometimes be a restricted workshop to allow room to do 'stuff'. There may be cheaper out there but I'm close to axy so...

    Crippling camels

I read the title and thought this would be about turning a 5 day camel into a 7 day camel. Sadly not ....... (for those who remember don't get your thumbs caught!)

Lons, That stuff is ultra thin and OK as dust sheet but little else. Highly doubtful it would any use for vacuuming.

Yes, it's bad, buying my own kitchen instead of making one..

Isn't that what's called an oxymoron? :D More along the lines of any flatpack kitchens that aren't complete and utter carp? As far as I'm aware they're all chipboard/MFC just in variable quality (and I don't think MFC is that bad when used appropriately). I've put quite a few in and once put...

    Respirators

How can you possibly say that? It states quite clearly: This mask is completely equivalent to 6800 comprehensive protection function, can used filter cotton, high quality products low prices, very popular! What more does a man (or woman) need? Like you Jim, I suspect it doesn't meet any...
