Anyone paying a fortune for veterinary medicine?

I agree with you completely but I think you'll find the years of training, experience and overhead costs were all contained in the whopping great examination fee! The prescription was extra.

Anyone paying a fortune for veterinary medicine?

One of our mutts is on HRT and the initial course of tablets was over £50. I found much cheaper tablets on line but needed the prescription which cost me £18 (I still save on the tablets though). When I asked why it was so expensive I was told it was their standard charge. I asked again why it...

    Europe. Gold medals

Personally I loved the Olympics and thought our performance rather spectacular. I was half listening to something this morning that said each gold medal cost in the region of £4 million.

    Cable/stud detector

Any recommendations for a decent quality cable and stud detector? I know there are some cheap ones out there but more than happy to spend a decent amount (£50 ish) if needed.

    Concealing pipework

Thanks Robin, I was in one of my 'can't see the wood for the tree's' approaches and this of course makes perfect sense.

    Concealing pipework

New central heating going in soon. 1995 build bungalow with concrete floors so all pipework dropping from above. I have a pet hate for exposed pipes so I'm looking to conceal as much as possible. Internal walls are dot and dab plasterboard over thermalite block so cutting out a decent chase...

    Wadkin mitre saw restoration

If you do you'll get: a) dirty b) hurt when you fall off! I love your rebuild threads as well. Amazing what you achieve.

    Vertical lift cupboard doors

Paul, This the sort of thing? http://www.blum.com/us/en/01/#1 http://www.hafele.co.uk/shop/c/cabinet- ... tings/8673 I've never used them but may have to think about it at our new place.

    What's so funny...

Then on that basis 'The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey.' Just has to be remembered. And don't forget the test match special where 'he couldn't get his leg over' had them collapsing in laughter (me too).

Dear Members- A point and a reminder

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make? Is the 'joke' your bottles of beer post? If so I fail to see why you bothered! If people want to discuss the issue then why not? Moderators have cleared it and are clearly keeping a close eye on what's being said and by whom. If people don't like...

Who is in and who is out?

I think the 'we're stealing their medical staff' is a bit strong! Yes the NHS actively recruits in other countries but that's because they can't get the staff here. UK medical training used to be regarded as some of the best in the world and the HNS was an excellent training ground before...

Who is in and who is out?

Before taxes go up he's going to need to demonstrate quite clearly why there's a need otherwise it just becomes a punishment for all. I'd want to see concrete, independent reasoning why it's necessary. As far as I'm concerned the NHS is nothing short of fantastic but is and will continue to be...

Who is in and who is out?

Sorry Roger, - there should be an irony icon on this thread! Of course it was a 'manifesto', - the problem is they were absolutely not in a position to deliver any of it as the leave campaign (and the remain come to that) had no power to do so. I suspect a number of voters have effectively been...

Who is in and who is out?

Roger, - think you'll find the words 'politics' and 'manefesto' have some bearing on the situation! :D

Who is in and who is out?

But what you don't know is what advice he received to the contrary. I doubt very much indeed if he made the decision on his lonesome. I heard one financial 'expert' on Friday suggesting that an immediate trigger of 50 would cause even more financial chaos and time was needed to let the markets...

Who is in and who is out?

As the dust starts to settle we'll start to see how things shake down. Like others I'm not expecting to see any major change in the short term. Custard has suggested an interesting experiment in comparing what you'd like with what you'll get. There will be many disappointed people I'll bet...

Who is in and who is out?

Interestingly Custard I didn't read it as an olive branch. I think they're quite keen for us to get on with it so they can get over us as soon as possible! I wonder if they can 'force' us to trigger Article 50 before we want to? It's been alluded to already but when people realise that in order...

Who is in and who is out?

Ummm.... I think you'll find that the 'people' were in fact 52% of 72%. Spin is a dreadful thing isn't it?! :D :D
